A Framework For Determining The Reliability Of Nanoscale Metallic Oxide Semiconductor (Mos) Devices, Wilkistar Otieno
A Framework For Determining The Reliability Of Nanoscale Metallic Oxide Semiconductor (Mos) Devices, Wilkistar Otieno
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
An increase in worldwide investments during the past several decades has pro-pelled scienti c breakthroughs in nanoscience and technology research to new and exciting levels. To ensure that these discoveries lead to commercially viable prod-ucts, it is important to address some of the fundamental engineering and scientific challenges related to nanodevices. Due to the centrality of reliability to product integrity, nanoreliability requires critical analysis and understanding to ensure long-term sustainability of nanodevices and systems. In this study, we construct a relia-bility framework for nanoscale dielectric lms used in Metallic Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) devices. The successful fabrication and incorporation of metallic …
Hf Radar Performance In A Low-Energy Environment: Codar Seasonde Experience On The West Florida Shelf, Yonggang Liu, Robert H. Weisberg, Clifford R. Merz, Sage Litchtenwalner, Gary J. Kirkpatrick
Hf Radar Performance In A Low-Energy Environment: Codar Seasonde Experience On The West Florida Shelf, Yonggang Liu, Robert H. Weisberg, Clifford R. Merz, Sage Litchtenwalner, Gary J. Kirkpatrick

Three long-range (5 MHz) Coastal Ocean Dynamics Application Radar (CODAR) SeaSonde HF radars overlooking an array of as many as eight moored acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs) have operated on the West Florida Shelf since September 2003 for the purpose of observing the coastal ocean currents. HF radar performance on this low-energy (currents and waves) continental shelf is evaluated with respect to data returns, the rms differences between the HF radar and the ADCP radial currents, bearing offsets, and radial velocity uncertainties. Possible environmental factors affecting the HF radar performance are discussed, with the findings that both the low-energy sea …
Design Of A New Suturing And Knot Tying Device For Laparoscopic Surgery, Sinan Onal
Design Of A New Suturing And Knot Tying Device For Laparoscopic Surgery, Sinan Onal
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgery has completely changed the focus of surgery becoming an alternative to various types of open surgery. Minimally invasive surgery avoids invasive open surgery as the operation is performed through one or more small incisions in the abdomen and using a small camera called laparoscope. Through these incisions, surgeons insert specialized surgical instruments to perform the operation resulting in less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay, and faster recovery. However, the main problems during minimally-invasive surgery are the limited space for operating instruments and the reduced visibility and range of motion inside the patient’s body. During minimally-invasive …
Draft Tampa Bay Interagency Seagrass Monitoring Program Training And Field Manual, Walt Avery, Roger Johansson, J. J. Pacowta
Draft Tampa Bay Interagency Seagrass Monitoring Program Training And Field Manual, Walt Avery, Roger Johansson, J. J. Pacowta
Reports
To insure quality assurance of the data collected among the various agencies, a training session is held each fall immediately prior to baywide TBISP monitoring. The goals of the session are to 1) determine the variability of the data collection among the agencies and to minimize this variability and 2) assess the repeatability of a seagrass investigator in determining species composition, abundance, density, and height. The purpose of this manual is to provide a seagrass researcher with information concerning TBISP protocols and results.
Data Summary From The Tampa Bay Interagency Seagrass Monitoring Program Through Year 2008, Walt Avery, Roger Johansson
Data Summary From The Tampa Bay Interagency Seagrass Monitoring Program Through Year 2008, Walt Avery, Roger Johansson
Reports
In 1997, the TBEP coordinated the creation of a bay-wide fixed transect seagrass monitoring program. The primary goal of the program is to document temporal and spatial changes in seagrass species composition, abundance, and distribution along a depth gradient. Several bay area agencies committed personnel and equipment to the program. Data collection from 60 transects began in 1998. Currently, 62 transects are monitored due to revisions in transect selection and location. This paper presents a general summary of Tampa Bay seagrass trends from 1998-2008
Long-Term And Seasonal Trends In Phytoplankton Production And Biomass In Tampa Bay, Florida., J.O. R. Johansson
Long-Term And Seasonal Trends In Phytoplankton Production And Biomass In Tampa Bay, Florida., J.O. R. Johansson
Reports
Phytoplankton production is a basic process in aquatic ecosystems that converts inorganic carbon into organic matter and provides an important indicator of trophic state. The City of Tampa Bay Study Group maintains a 32 year long monthly record of phytoplankton production rates and biomass (chlorophyll-a) in Hillsborough Bay (HB) and Middle Tampa Bay (MTB), and a recent record during the last nine years for Old Tampa Bay (OTB). Production is measured using the classic in situ 14C method with samples incubated vertically in the water column. Annual production rates during the most recent decade are about 410gCm-2 for HB, 350gCm-2 …

Learning And Engaging The Information Values Of A Karst Community Of Practice., Kaya Van Beynen, E S. Fleury
USF St. Petersburg campus Faculty Publications
The Communities of Practice model is an innovative means to explore a local knowledge community and how informal practitioners contribute to karst science. By exploring the information values, this article strategizes how the Karst Information Portal can promote trust, engagement, and expand the scientific understanding and protection of karst environments.
Heat Stress Evaluation Of Protective Clothing Ensembles, Amanda Lee Pease
Heat Stress Evaluation Of Protective Clothing Ensembles, Amanda Lee Pease
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Clothing directly affects the level of heat stress exposure. Useful measures to express the thermal characteristics are WBGT (wet bulb globe temperature) clothing adjustment factor (CAF) or apparent total evaporative resistance (Re,T,a). The CAF is assigned through laboratory wear trials following a heat stress protocol in which the air temperature and humidity are progressively increased until the participant clearly loses the ability to maintain thermal equilibrium. The critical condition is the point of thermal transition and from these conditions both the CAF and Re,T,a are computed. The first objective of this study is to compare the …

The Bay Study Group was created by the City of Tampa in 1976 to monitor the effects of pollution abatement that occurred in Hillsborough Bay when the city’s wastewater treatment plant was upgraded from primary to advanced treatment in 1979. The Bay Study Group documented a remarkable restoration of water quality parameters and biological indicators in Hillsborough Bay from the mid 1980s until 2009, when it was disbanded. This zip Geodatabase file contains the aerial photos for the year 2010.
