Smia: Improving Kosovo's Education Management System, Lazar Adjijgogov, Dejan Stamenov, Edmond Jajaga
UBT International Conference
Successful management of today’s education systems requires effective policy-making and system monitoring through data and information. To this end, countries around the world have invested significant resources into collecting, processing, and managing more and better data through education management information systems (EMIS). SMIA is a modern EMIS, which offers easier management of educational process in Kosovo. It facilitates decision-making, resource planning, strategy building, monitoring and evaluation of educational system through a rich set of analytical and statistical tools. For over six years of activity, the system has efficiently tracked and thus helped the development of the educational process for every …
Some Issues In The Testing Of Computer Simulation Models, David J. Murray-Smith
Some Issues In The Testing Of Computer Simulation Models, David J. Murray-Smith
UBT International Conference
The testing of simulation models has much in common with testing processes in other types of application involving software development. However, there are also important differences associated with the fact that simulation model testing involves two distinct aspects, which are known as verification and validation. Model validation is concerned with investigation of modelling errors and model limitations while verification involves checking that the simulation program is an accurate representation of the mathematical and logical structure of the underlying model. Success in model validation depends upon the availability of detailed information about all aspects of the system being modelled. It also …
Traditional Mathematics And New Methods Of Teaching Through Programming Together With Students, Robert Kosova, Teuta Thanasi, Lindita Mukli, Loreta Nakuçi Pëllumbi
Traditional Mathematics And New Methods Of Teaching Through Programming Together With Students, Robert Kosova, Teuta Thanasi, Lindita Mukli, Loreta Nakuçi Pëllumbi

We are used to the traditional methods of teaching mathematics. The textbook, the blackboard and a chalk have been for centuries a wonderful part of teaching. And, they always will be. Traditional teaching methods of mathematics are a wonderful legacy of our educational system that have educated generations of teachers, engineers, administrators, managers, leaders, and economists. American universities websites, the video- lectures of the best professors of well-known disciplines such as statistics, operational research, number theory, algebra, game theory, show impressing large blackboards, all over the auditor's walls. We always will need and admire traditional mathematics. But, beyond the lessons, …
On The Role Of Gis Technology In Geospatial Education (Qgis Vs Argis), Shkelqim Kuka, Jozef Bushati
On The Role Of Gis Technology In Geospatial Education (Qgis Vs Argis), Shkelqim Kuka, Jozef Bushati
UBT International Conference
In the teaching of modeling concepts and spatial analysis, a major role play technologies and software. Anyhow main aim at the education is the teaching of concept independently on what kind of technologies and software will be used. The latter might be grouped in two categories: the commercial software and Open Source software. In this article emphasises the role of GIS technologies at the process of teaching and it is fulfilled an analysis advantages adn disadvantages between both software: commercial software ArcGis, and so called “Open Source” QuantumGis. Taking in to consideration the financial possibility of the educational institutions and …
