It was found that the addition of cationic surfactants (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) increased the reduction current signal of desloratadine, while anionic (sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) and nonionic (Tween 80) surfactants were found to have an adverse effect. Using linear sweep-cathodic stripping voltammetry, the analytical signal showed a linear correlation with a concentration of 0.1 to 4 μM …

Voltammetric behaviors of six nitro-substituted benzamides, which are potential prodrug candidates for nitroreductase-based cancer therapy, were investigated using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The electrochemical behavior of aromatic nitro (ArNO$_{2})$ compounds by CV indicates that compounds involve various reduction/oxidation steps including the formation of aromatic nitro radical, nitroso, hydroxylamine, and amine groups. Applicability of the voltammetric determination of these prodrug candidates was studied by recording their DPVs, carried out in mixed media (Britton Robinson buffer solution $+$ DMF) at various pH values on a pencil graphite electrode (PGE). Results show that the PGE can offer a disposable, …

Synthesis And Electrochemistry Of Phthalocyanines Bearing [(3,4-Dimethoxybenzyl)Oxy] Groups, İpek Ömeroğlu, Zekeri̇ya Biyiklioğlu

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

In this study peripherally tetra-substituted metal-free, metallophthalocyanines bearing (3,4-dimethoxybenzyl) oxy groups have been synthesized and characterized. Electrochemical properties of novel phthalocyanines 4, 5, 6, and 7 were determined by cyclic and square wave voltammetry in order to define their possible applications in different electrochemical technologies. Co^{II} and Ti^{IV}O metal ions behave as redox active cations in the core of the CoPc and TiOPc complexes, respectively. Voltammetric studies revealed that phthalocyanines have reversible/irreversible redox processes, which are the main requirement for the technological usage of these compounds.

Although the anodic peaks of both reagents overlapped on the Au disk electrode, the anodic peak potentials of DA and AA in their mixture were well separated since the peak potential of AA was shifted to more negative values by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry. The oxidation peak current increased linearly with the concentration of …

Voltammetric, Uv Absorption And Viscometric Studies Of The Interaction Of Norepinephrine With Dna, Mehmet Aslanoğlu, Necla Öge

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Voltammetric, UV-vis spectroscopic and viscometric methods were used to investigate the interaction between norepinephrine and DNA. The results of square wave voltammetric and UV-absorption measurements have shown that norepinephrine was bound to DNA. Besides the electrostatic interaction between DNA and norepinephrine, hydrogen bonds and intercalation may also exist. Viscosity measurements also suggest that NE is bound to DNA via an electrostatic mode of interaction at lower norepinephrine concentrations. However, at higher concentrations of norpinephrine, the increase in the relative viscosity of DNA indicated that the intercalation is also involved in the binding. The binding constant and the binding site size …
