Novel Bis(Aminoalcohol)Oxalamide Organogelators And Their Diglycolylamide Analogs: Evaluation Of Gelation Efficiency In Various Organic Fluids, Mehmet Çolak, Deni̇z Bariş Cebe, Necmetti̇n Pi̇ri̇nççi̇oğlu, Hali̇l Hoşgören

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Three modular types of bis(aminoalcohol)oxalamides (1,4, and 7) and bis(aminoalcohol)diglycolylamide (8) gelators have been prepared by the reaction of the respective aminoalcohols with oxalyl and digycolyl methylesters as potential low-molecular-weight organogelators. The gelation properties of these amides have been evaluated in various aromatic organic solvents (xylene, toluene, isopropyl benzene, and aromatic ether type organic fluids such as anisole or $\alpha $-phenylethylmethylether) as well as the long-chain aliphatic alcohols (1-hexanol, 1-octanol, 2-octanol, and aromatic 1-phenylethanol). The compounds with \textit{sec}-butyl and ethyl side chains produce good gelation properties in both aromatic and other organic fluids. Furthermore, the common oxalamide linker present in …

Introducing Students To Communications Concepts Using Optical And Low-Power Wireless Devices, James M. Conrad, Ivan Howitt Jan 2006

Introducing Students To Communications Concepts Using Optical And Low-Power Wireless Devices, James M. Conrad, Ivan Howitt

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Wireless communication has become an important feature for commercial products and a popular research topic within the last ten years. There are now more mobile phone subscriptions than wired-line subscriptions. Lately, one area of commercial interest has been low-cost, low-power, and short-distance wireless communication used for "personal wireless networks." Technology advancements are providing smaller and more cost effective devices for integrating computational processing, wireless communication, and a host of other functionalities. These embedded communications devices will be integrated into applications ranging from homeland security to industry automation and monitoring. They will also enable custom tailored engineering solutions, creating a revolutionary …

Mössbauer, Infrared And X-Ray Studies For Ni_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}Cr_Xfe_{2-X}O_4 Ferrites, Mohamed Amer, S. Ata-Allah, T. Meaz, S. Aboul-Enein, M. Abd-El-Hamid Jan 2005

Mössbauer, Infrared And X-Ray Studies For Ni_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}Cr_Xfe_{2-X}O_4 Ferrites, Mohamed Amer, S. Ata-Allah, T. Meaz, S. Aboul-Enein, M. Abd-El-Hamid

Turkish Journal of Physics

Spinel ferrites of the system Ni_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}Cr_xFe_{2-x}O_4, 0 \le x \le 1, have been studied via Mössbauer, IR and X-ray spectra. Mössbauer spectra of the samples showed broad six-line patterns and a central paramagnetic phase. The spectra have been analyzed to two magnetic patterns, A and B, and two quadrupole doublets, C_A and C_B. The patterns A and C_A are assigned to Fe^{3+} ions at the tetrahedral A-sites and the patterns B and C_B to Fe^{3+} and Fe^{2+} ions at the octahedral B-sites. The deduced hyperfine interaction parameters; the isomer shifts, quadrupole splitting, outermost line widths, hyperfine magnetic fields and bulk …

Synthesis Of Isomorphous Prototypic [Crfe_2o(Aco)_6(Tep)_3]Cl And [Crfe_2o(Aco)_6(Tmp)_3]Cl As Oxo-Centered Hetero Tri-Nuclear Carboxylate Complexes, Massoud Rafizadeh, Reza Tayebee, Vahid Amani Jan 2005

Synthesis Of Isomorphous Prototypic [Crfe_2o(Aco)_6(Tep)_3]Cl And [Crfe_2o(Aco)_6(Tmp)_3]Cl As Oxo-Centered Hetero Tri-Nuclear Carboxylate Complexes, Massoud Rafizadeh, Reza Tayebee, Vahid Amani

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

[CrFe_2O(AcO)_6(TEP)_3]Cl, (1), and [CrFe_2O(AcO)_6(TMP)_3]Cl, (2), were prepared by replacing 3 water molecules in the [CrFe_2O(AcO)_6(H_2O)_3]Cl complex with triethyl- and trimethyl-phosphates, respectively. FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed an oxo-centered, carboxylate-bridged, heteronuclear triangular structure for the title compounds. M_3O and MO_4 units adopted D_{3h} and D_{4h} local symmetry, respectively, and are surrounded by 6 bridging acetates with C_{2v} local symmetry.
