Modular Invariant Soft Breaking, Wmap, Dark Matter, And Sparticle Mass Limits, Utpal Chattopadhyay, Pran Nath

An analysis of soft breaking under the constraint of modular invariance is given. The role of dilaton and moduli dependent front factors in achieving a modular invariant Vsoft is emphasized. Further, it is shown that in string models tan⁡β is no longer a free parameter but is determined in terms of αstring and the other soft parameters by the constraints of modular invariance and radiative electroweak symmetry breaking. The above framework is then used to analyze the neutralino relic density consistent with the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data at self-dual points in the Kähler and complex structure moduli. One …

Wmap Dark Matter Constraints And Yukawa Unification In Supergravity Models With Cp Phases, Mario E. Gomez, Tarek Ibrahim, Pran Nath, Solveig Skadhauge

The compatibility of producing the observed amount of dark matter, as indicated by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data, through the relic abundance of neutralinos with Yukawa unification and with the measured rate of b→sγ is analyzed in mSUGRA and extended SUGRA unified models with the inclusion of CP phases. The CP phases affect the analysis in several ways, e.g., through the threshold corrections to the b-quark mass, via their effects on the neutralino relic density and through the supersymmetry (SUSY) contribution to the BR(b→sγ) which is sensitive to the CP phases. We present some specific models with large …

The PAMELA positron excess is analyzed within the framework of nonuniversal supergravity (SUGRA) models with an extended U(1)n gauge symmetry in the hidden sector leading to neutralino dark matter with either a mixed Higgsino-wino lightest R-parity odd supersymmetric particle (LSP) or an essentially pure wino-dominated LSP. The Higgsino-wino LSP can produce the observed PAMELA positron excess and satisfy relic density constraints in the extended class of models due to a near degeneracy of the mass spectrum of the extended neutralino sector with the LSP mass. The simultaneous satisfaction of the WMAP relic density data and the PAMELA data is accomplished …
