Effects Of Magnetic Field And Chemical Reaction On A Time Dependent Casson Fluid Flow, Akhil Mittal, Harshad Patel, Ramesh Patoliya, Vimalkumar Gohil

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This research paper deals with the effect of chemical reactions and magnetic fields on the hydrodynamics fluid flow of Casson fluid. The novelty of this work is the inclusion of time-dependent flow across a vertical plate with a stepped concentration at the surface in a porous media. The stated phenomenon is modeled in the PDE system and is adapted in the ODE system through similarity transformation. The LT (Laplace Transform) and ILT (Inverse LT) are used to obtain the analytical results for regulating dimension-free movement, thermals, and concentration expression. The exact expression of shear rate, heat exchange rate, and mass …

(R1471) Mhd Reiner-Rivlin Liquid Flow Through A Porous Cylindrical Annulus, Satya Deo, Satish Kumar

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

The present work concerns the steady and unsteady flow of an incompressible Reiner- Rivlin liquid in the porous annular region of two concentric rotating cylinders, which is moving parallel to their axis, about the common axis of these cylinders under uniform magnetic field acted in perpendicular direction of the axis. The electrically conducting flow of Reiner-Rivlin liquid in the annular porous region is governed by the Brinkman equation with the consideration that the effective viscosity of liquid is same as viscosity of the liquid. Analytical expressions for velocity components, pressure gradient and volumetric flow rate are established. Effects of the …

Mhd Mixed Convective Flow Of Maxwell Nanofluid Past A Porous Vertical Stretching Sheet In Presence Of Chemical Reaction, Hunegnaw Dessie, Demeke Fissha

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this study, MHD mixed convective flow of Maxwell nanofluid past a porous vertical stretching sheet in the presence of chemical reaction is investigated. The governing partial differential equations with the corresponding boundary conditions are reduced to a set of ordinary differential equations via Lie group analysis. Numerical solutions of these equations are obtained by Runge-Kutta fourth order method along with shooting technique and the results obtained for different governing flow parameters are drawn graphically and their effects on velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are discussed. The values of skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number coefficient and Sherwood number coefficient are presented …

Laplace Adomian Decomposition Method To Study Chemical Ion Transport Through Soil, Poonam Soni, Arun Kumar, A. Rani Jun 2019

Laplace Adomian Decomposition Method To Study Chemical Ion Transport Through Soil, Poonam Soni, Arun Kumar, A. Rani

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

The paper deals with a theoretical study of chemical ion transport in soil under a uniform external force in the transverse direction, where the soil is taken as porous medium. The problem is formulated in terms of boundary value problem that consists of a set of partial differential equations, which is subsequently converted to a system of ordinary differential equations by applying similarity transformation along with boundary layer approximation. The equations hence obtained are solved by utilizing Laplace Adomian Decomposition Method (LADM). The merit of this method lies in the fact that much of simplifying assumptions need not be made …

Study Of Soret And Ion Slip Effects On Mhd Flow Near An Oscillating Vertical Plate In A Rotating System, U. S. Rajput, Mohammad Shareef

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This study analyses the Soret, Hall and ion slip effects on a free convective flow of an electrically conducting, incompressible and viscous fluid near the vertical oscillatory infinite plate in a rotating system. A set of dimensionless governing equations of the model is obtained. As the equations are linear, an exact solution can be obtained by using Laplace transform method. The influence of various parameters on the concentration, temperature, velocity, Sherwood number and Nusselt number are discussed with the help of graphs. The numerical values of skin-friction are shown in tables. Applications of the study arise in field like planetary …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

The present paper deals with a theoretical investigation of the hydromagnetic peristaltic transportation with porous medium through coaxial asymmetric vertical tapered channel and joule heating which has been studied under the assumption of long wavelength approximations. Exact analytical expressions of axial velocity, volume flow rate, pressure gradient, temperature and heat transfer coefficient at both walls were calculated. We notice from the figures that the temperature of the fluid increases in the entire vertical tapered …

Hydromagnetic Instability Of Streaming Viscoelastic Fluids Through Porous Media, Pardeep Kumar, Hari Mohan Jun 2012

Hydromagnetic Instability Of Streaming Viscoelastic Fluids Through Porous Media, Pardeep Kumar, Hari Mohan

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

The hydromagnetic instability of the plane interface between two uniform, superposed and streaming Rivlin-Ericksen viscoelastic fluids through porous medium is considered. The case of two uniform streaming fluids separated by a horizontal boundary is studied. It is observed, for the special case where perturbations in the direction and transverse direction of streaming are ignored, that the system is stable for stable configuration and unstable for unstable configuration. If the perturbations in the direction of streaming only one ignored, then the system is stable for stable configuration. However, the magnetic field succeeds in stabilizing certain wave-number range, which is otherwise potentially …

On The Stability Of Superposed Viscous-Viscoelastic Fluids Through Porous Medium, Pardeep Kumar, Gursharn Jit Singh

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

Rayleigh-Taylor instability of a Newtonian viscous fluid overlying Walters’s B viscoelastic fluid through porous medium is considered. For the stable configuration the system is found to be stable or unstable. However, the system is found to be unstable for the unstable configuration. The effects of a uniform horizontal magnetic field and a uniform rotation are also considered. For the stable configuration, in the hydro magnetic case also, the system is found to be stable or unstable. However, for the unstable configuration, the magnetic field and viscoelasticity have got stabilizing effects. The system is found to be unstable for the potentially …
