A new distributed object-oriented discrete event-driven simulation environment, DODESE, is developed to provide a common framework for simulation model design and implementation. The DODESE can be used to define a simulation including all the simulation objects participating in the simulation while the execution of the simulation can be interactively monitored on DODESE. The DODESE system has combined the strengths of both object-oriented paradigms and data base technology to make computer simulation more powerful and has achieved the goals of object-orientation, distribution, reusability, maintainability and extensibility. Genetic algorithms are stochastic search techniques based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. Genetic algorithms differ from traditional analytical methods by using genetic operators and historic cumulative information to prune the search space and generate plausible solutions. Recent research has shown that genetic algorithms have a large range and growing number of applications.

The research presented in this thesis is that of using genetic algorithms to solve some typical combinatorial optimization problems, namely the Clique, Vertex Cover and Max Cut problems. N-Acetoxy-N-Acetyl-2-Aminofluorene Binding Sites On [Phi] X174 And Sv40, Marta L. Bascoy

Restriction enzyme inhibition and lambda exonuclease studies indicate that carcinogen N-acetoxy-N-acetyl-2 aminofluorene (AAAF) binds to sequences on ɸX174 RF and SV40 plasmids DNA that are similar to the eight preferred binding sites previously located on pBR 322.

Both DNAs were digested with enzyme Hinf I and resultant fragments 32P end-labeled. Labeled fragments were reacted with the carcinogen to give one to sixteen bound moieties per DNA. Fragments were isolated and restriccion enzyme and lambda exonuclease inhibition assays were performed.

Inhibition detected occurred at selected sites and was not specific for a certain enzyme or certain size of recognition sequence.

Hospitality Review

The need for a high quality tourism database is well known. For example, planners and managers need high quality data for budgeting, forecasting, planning marketing and advertising strategies, and staffing. Thus the concepts of quality and need are intertwined to pose a problem to the tourism professional, be they private sector or public sector employees. One could argue that collaboration by public and private sector tourism professionals could provide the best sources and uses of high quality tourism data. This discussion proposes just such a collaboration and a detailed methodology for operationalizing this arrangement.
