Multiscale Modeling Of Structure-Function Relationships Of Organic Semiconductors, Shi Li Jan 2020

Multiscale Modeling Of Structure-Function Relationships Of Organic Semiconductors, Shi Li

Theses and Dissertations--Chemistry

While optoelectronic devices built from organic semiconductors (OSC) continue to find their way into the commercial landscape, there remain numerous challenges to overcome to supplant traditional semiconductors in many technologies. Chief among these are low performance metrics relative to devices with conventional semiconductors and device stability. In order to overcome these challenges, a wide range of new OSC and processing technologies have been developed. However, there remains limited fundamental understanding of the relationship between molecular structure, packing in the solid state, and the resulting materials properties. Here, we make use of multiscale molecular models and utilize classical all-atom molecular dynamic …

Amphiphilic Assemblies With Responsive Characteristics At Surfaces And Interfaces, Piyachai Khomein Mar 2019

Amphiphilic Assemblies With Responsive Characteristics At Surfaces And Interfaces, Piyachai Khomein

Doctoral Dissertations

Amphiphilic self-assembly has gained a lot of interest in both academic and industrial fields. Amphiphiles have a unique ability to self-assemble in water, providing a range of nanosized materials of various morphologies. Many efforts have been dedicated to developing responsive amphiphilic assemblies by introducing responsive characteristics into the amphiphile building blocks. Responsive assemblies have been utilized in many promising applications such as targeted drug delivery systems, smart sensors, and electronic devices. Here, we reported four different types of responsive assemblies created via the incorporation of different responsive groups either at the material’s surface or interface. To achieve the responsive characteristics …

Reaction Optimization Of Pyrazinoquinoxaline Based Organic Semiconductor With Cruciform Shape, Marco Valverde Paredes, Dong-Chan Lee Oct 2018

Reaction Optimization Of Pyrazinoquinoxaline Based Organic Semiconductor With Cruciform Shape, Marco Valverde Paredes, Dong-Chan Lee

LSAMP Poster Presentations

In this work, an optimum reaction condition was established to synthesize a pyrazinoquinoxaline based organic semiconductor with cruciform shape.

Organic Thin-Film Transistors And Tips-Pentacene, Zachary Stewart Jan 2013

Organic Thin-Film Transistors And Tips-Pentacene, Zachary Stewart

Lewis Honors College Capstone Collection

TIPS-Pentacene, an organic semiconductor characterized by its good electronic properties, solubility, and stability, is used primarily in organic thin-film transistors (OTFT). This research seeks to create an OTFT by crafting a stencil, depositing the source and drain onto a substrate’s surface, and processing TIPS-Pentacene onto the channel between them. In addition, if time permits, the electronic properties of several OTFTs will be compared to determine how to optimize their production.
