PAGE 2 'Women as History-Makers In California" Symposium The 59th California History Institute was held this past March at University of the Pacific. This year's theme was "Women as History-Makers in California." The event was planned and co- organized by Edith Sparks (Senior Associate Dean of the College), Jennifer Hel- gren, Assistant Professor of History, Corrie Martin, Director of the Women's Resource Center, and W.
