The Geologic History Of The Bison In The Great Plains (A Preliminary Report), C. Bertrand Schultz, W. D. Frankforter
The Geologic History Of The Bison In The Great Plains (A Preliminary Report), C. Bertrand Schultz, W. D. Frankforter
Bulletin of the University of Nebraska State Museum
THE GEOLOGIC history of the bison in North America is a subject which has received little attention to date. Osteological rather than geological problems have been the main concern of most writers who have so far published. If the geologic history of the bison is to be learned, it will be necessary to devote more time and effort in the field in determining the age of the deposits in which various specimens have been discovered and in making more extensive collections from deposits of known age. Unfortunately the majority of the type specimens have been surface finds and little attempt …
Geology And Ore Deposits Of The Dunmore Mine, Ouray County, Colorado, Caswell Silver
Geology And Ore Deposits Of The Dunmore Mine, Ouray County, Colorado, Caswell Silver
Earth and Planetary Sciences ETDs
The Dunmore lode is located near Ouray, Colorado in the northwest part of the San Juan Mountains. In structure as well as mineral assemblage it shows a connection between the chimneys and veins of the region. The lode averages about 100 feet wide for 1,200 feet along the Dunmore claim. The fissure zone is over two miles long and displacement along it has offset a folded pre-Cambrian complex 4,500 feet prior to the deposition of 2,400 feet of volcanic tuff. Fissures in the pre-Cambrian rocks controlled in part the intrusion of dikes and the formation of veins. Late Tertiary faulting …
An Investigation Into The Adaption Of The Induction Furnace For Determining The Equilibrim Diagram Of The System Cu2s-Fes, John R. Cole
An Investigation Into The Adaption Of The Induction Furnace For Determining The Equilibrim Diagram Of The System Cu2s-Fes, John R. Cole
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
This investigation was started in an effort to find an accurate and efficient method of determining the freezing points of ferrous and cuprous sulphides, mixtures of the two substances, and from this to establish the liquidus line of the equilibrium diagram.
A Preliminary Investigation Of The Hydrometallurgy Of Philipsburg Manganese, W. L. Goodman
A Preliminary Investigation Of The Hydrometallurgy Of Philipsburg Manganese, W. L. Goodman
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
In the past the steel industry of the United States has depended almost wholly on imports for its supplies of manganese. Although it is well known that there are enormous deposits of low grade manganese ore in the United States the production of substantial amounts of ferro-grade material from domestic sources presents a field for constructive and practical research.
Economic Talc Deposits Of Montana And Related Firing Problems, Charles J. Lyden
Economic Talc Deposits Of Montana And Related Firing Problems, Charles J. Lyden
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
This thesis has to do with a study of the production of talc in Montana, describing the local geology of each deposit, and a description of the laboratory tests that were made on various grades of Montana talc in an attempt to determine why some grades of talc can be burned in solid forms while others must be ground, mixed with a binder and molded.
