Mtn Mobile Money Technology As A Convinient Option For Water Utility Bills In Uganda, Agnes Namuli
International Conference on Hydroinformatics
In the past, the public struggled to stand long hours and travelling long distances to pay watebills in Uganda urban centres. This made people become reluctant to pay for water bills leading to continious water cut offs and loosing trust in the National Water and Sewerage Cooperation in Uganda. The use of mobile money technology has changed and made access to water in the urban centres more effective and efficiency. The convenience of MTN Mobile money to the public came as a real time solution and has eliminated delays in updating customer accounts as well as reduce on the physical …

Water and Air Quality Issues in Oil and Gas Development: The Evolving Framework of Regulation and Management (Martz Summer Conference, June 5-6)
1 page.
This Conference is presented by the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment, in conjunction with the Air-Water-Gas Sustainability Research Network. Technological advances for extracting oil and gas from shale deposits have ushered in a new era of energy development in key resource-rich pockets throughout the US. In this event, we review the ongoing efforts of governments and industry to develop the regulatory and management practices necessary to protect water and air resources, drawing on the latest scientific research to tackle areas of uncertainty and to inform future action.

Fracking, Water Quality and Public Health: Examining Current Laws and Regulations (March 20)
Improved technology developments in directional drilling and hydraulic fracturing, more commonly known as "fracking," have resulted in an oil and gas production boom nationwide. Fracking involves pumping pressurized water, sand, and chemicals down wells to crack bedrock, freeing petroleum and natural gas. Wastewater discharges, hydraulic fracturing fluid releases, and other accidental spills pose potential water quality risks, sparking concern for public health.
This webinar will examine the laws and regulations governing water quality issues related to fracking, recent state court decisions affecting regulations, and implications for public health.

Energy is lost when air conditioners and hot-air furnaces have to work harder to draw air through dirty filters. Cleaning/replacing a dirty air conditioner filter can save 5 percent of the energy used. That could save 175 pounds of CO2.air filters can save your company up to 30% of your total HVAC energy spend and last twice as long as traditional air filters. Also your company will benefit from significantly reduced installation labor costs and waste disposal costs. In the average commercial building, 50% of the energy bill is for the HVAC system and 30% of that is directly related …
