Investigation Of Reaction Kinetics Of Hydrogen Chloride With Calcium Oxide By Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Maosheng Li Oct 1993

Investigation Of Reaction Kinetics Of Hydrogen Chloride With Calcium Oxide By Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Maosheng Li

Theses

The kinetics of HCl reaction with CaO was investigated over the temperature range of 148 to 400 °C. A thin film of CaO was deposited on quartz wool and used as the sorbent. The HCl concentration was maintained uniformly in the closed system with a circulating pump in order to minimize the effects of the bulk mass transfer and pore diffusion. The HCl concentration was continuously monitored in a FT-IR cell and the HCl and H2O spectra were collected automatically by GC software at 1.2 second intervals. In this way, fewer errors were introduced into the system. The …

I: Reaction Of Ch3c1 With H2 And Ch4 Under Oxidation And Pyrolysis Conditions Ii: Kinetic Analysis Of C2h6, C2h4, And C2h2 Reactions With Oh, O, H, And Cl, Qing-Rui Yu

Theses

Experimental and detailed modeling are presented for the high temperature combustion systems involving CH3Cl/CH4/O2 and C33Cl/H2/O2 reactions. More important C2 species reaction rate constant are created. A mechanism incorporating 263 step elementary reactions and 76 stable compounds and active radicals is developed based on (1) fundamental thermochemical and Kinetic principles (2) Quantum Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel (QRRK) theory analysis (3) accurate thermodynamic Properties and thermochemical analysis (4) reliable experimental data to validate our model.

The study of Part II evaluates and analyzes theoretically the rate constants of C2H6, C …

Thermal Decomposition Of Dichloromethane/1,1,1-Trichloroethane Mixture In An Atmosphere Of Hydrogen, Yang Soo Won Sep 1988

Thermal Decomposition Of Dichloromethane/1,1,1-Trichloroethane Mixture In An Atmosphere Of Hydrogen, Yang Soo Won

Theses

The thermal decomposition of a dichloromethane/1 , 1 , 1-trichloroethane mixture diluted in hydrogen was conducted in tubular flow reactors at 1 atmosphere total pressure. The thermal degradation of each species was analyzed systematically over temperature ranges from 475 - 810 °C, residence times of 0.05 - 2.0 seconds and three different surface to volume ratio flow reactors.

It was found that the conversions of each species in the mixture were a function of both temperature and residence time. Complete decay occurs at about 810 °C for dichloromethane and around 570 °C for 1,1,1-trichloroethane at 1 second residence time. The …
