A New Approach For Wind Turbine Placement Problem Using Modified Differential Evolution Algorithm, Hüseyi̇n Hakli Jan 2019

A New Approach For Wind Turbine Placement Problem Using Modified Differential Evolution Algorithm, Hüseyi̇n Hakli

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Energy use is increasing worldwide with industrialization and advancing technology. Following this increase, renewable energy resources are increasingly preferred to reduce the costs of energy production. Wind energy is preferred as a renewable energy resource because it is clean and safe. Wind turbines are used to meet the demand for wind energy. They are placed close to each other to generate higher amounts of energy. However, the wake effect problem arises in these types of layouts, and this hinders the turbines from producing the desired yield. A modified differential evolution (MDE) algorithm was proposed in this study to solve the …

Rlc Circuit Extraction With The Differential Evolution Algorithm For Conducted Electromagnetic Emission Model Of Integrated Circuits, Muhammed Emi̇n Başak, Ayten Kuntman

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

This paper examines the modeling of conducted electromagnetic emissions of integrated circuits. In this study, test circuits were designed and printed circuit boards were prepared to measure the input impedance at the power supply pin of the microcontroller. After S-parameter measurements of the test circuit were performed in a frequency range of 10 MHz to 2 GHz, Z-parameters were obtained via S-parameters. Next, the impedance--frequency curve of the test circuit's power supply pin, which consists of a microcontroller core, printed circuit board, conductive trace, and SMA connector global impedances, was obtained. Therefore, all the traces, printed circuit board, and SMA …

Induction Motor Parameter Estimation Using Metaheuristic Methods, Ali̇ İhsan Çanakoğlu, Asim Gökhan Yetgi̇n, Hasan Temurtaş, Mustafa Turan Jan 2014

Induction Motor Parameter Estimation Using Metaheuristic Methods, Ali̇ İhsan Çanakoğlu, Asim Gökhan Yetgi̇n, Hasan Temurtaş, Mustafa Turan

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

The steady-state equivalent circuit parameters of an induction motor can be estimated using the operation characteristics that are provided by manufacturers. The characteristics of the motor used in estimation methods are the starting, maximum, and nominal torque values; the power factor; and efficiency. The operation characteristics of a motor given in data sheets are generally based on design parameters and are not suitable with real values. For this reason, in this paper, the data used in the parameter estimation for induction motors are taken from the literature. Using an optimization method for parameter estimation is useful for comparing the manufacturer …
