A Study On The Magnetite Skarn Mineralization (Gümüşhane, Türkiye): A Magnetic Survey, Ferkan Si̇pahi̇, Münür Burhan Sadiklar, Mehmet Ali̇ Gücer, Ali̇ Aydin, Rasi̇m Taylan Kara

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Iron (Fe)-skarn mineralizations (Çambaşı, Dereli, Eğrikar, Karadağ, Kopuz, Sekü, Donguldere, Arnastal, Özdil, Ögene, İkizdere, Ovit Dağı, Kartiba, etc.) in the eastern part of the Pontides (NE Türkiye) are accommodated in the Pontide paleomagmatic arc and the eastern part of the Pontides Metallogenic Belt containing numerous various deposits. Fe-skarn mineralization around the Arnastal Plateau (Gümüşhane-Türkiye) is fragmentary in this area, which is covered with plants (grasses, flowers, etc.). Thus, it was attempted to describe the subsurface structures and Fe mineralization using an interpretation of the available geological and existing magnetic data in this area. Granitoid and volcano-sedimentary series (Upper Cretaceous) outcrop …

A Review Of The Geothermal System Evolution And Distribution In The Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex (Türkiye), Mehmet Furkan Şener, Muhammed Zeynel Öztürk, Alper Baba Sep 2023

A Review Of The Geothermal System Evolution And Distribution In The Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex (Türkiye), Mehmet Furkan Şener, Muhammed Zeynel Öztürk, Alper Baba

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Türkiye is located in the Mediterranean sector of the Alpine-Himalayan tectonic belt and is among the foremost seven countries in the world having an abundance of geothermal resources. The Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex (CACC) is one of the most important geothermal regions in Türkiye. This study aims to evaluate the geothermal system of CACC using the geological, structural, and hydrogeochemical properties that were obtained from previous studies. The present study investigated and evaluated the hydrogeochemical and isotopic properties of 762 water samples belonging to 45 different localities from 41 scientific studies. The result shows that CACC has different heat sources …

The Potential, Utilization And Development Of Geothermal Energy In Türkiye, Mehmet Furkan Şener, Taygun Uzelli̇, İbrahim Akkuş, Orhan Mertoğlu, Alper Baba Sep 2023

The Potential, Utilization And Development Of Geothermal Energy In Türkiye, Mehmet Furkan Şener, Taygun Uzelli̇, İbrahim Akkuş, Orhan Mertoğlu, Alper Baba

Bulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration

Geothermal energy is a natural resource that can be utilized directly or by converting to other types of energy. Considering the diversity of the geological structure of Türkiye, the geothermal systems have developed depending on young tectonic and volcanic active rock. Western and Central Anatolia are especially rich in geothermal resources. The geothermal well with the hottest wellbottom temperature was drilled in Central Anatolia, and the well-bottom temperature was measured as 341°C at a depth of 3845 meters. In 2022, Türkiye’s electricity generation capacity and the total installed direct heat use reached 1663 MWe and 5113 MWt, respectively. Considering Anatolia’s …

New High Resolution Aeromagnetic Anomaly Map Of Türkiye And Its Various Derivative-Based Maps, Alper Kiyak, Eren Pamuk, Serkan Köksal, Mustafa Levent Bakar, Serdar Tosuner

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Since Türkiye's territory is mostly mountainous and forested, earth science studies in these areas have not been completed at an adequate level and with a satisfying resolution. However, due to the long time and cost of collecting measurements from land in large- and medium-scale studies and due to the inability to collect measurements in regular grid intervals in large-scale studies to be carried out on land, an airborne geophysical survey project was conducted in order to collect high-resolution magnetic and radiometric country-scale data. Total magnetic field and radiometry data were collected from the air between 2017 and 2022 within the …
