Following a brief introduction of the general characteristics of active tectonics in China, this study analyzed two new features of large earthquakes with Ms ≥ 7 that have struck continental China since the beginning of the 21st century: (1) Large earthquakes occur primarily in clusters along the boundary fault zone of the Bayanhar active tectonic block—part of the Qinghai-Tibet ateau active tectonic block. (2) Reverse fault-fold earthquakes have occurred multiple times within active basins or at basin-mountain boundaries. Near-bit meusurement while drilling (MWD) integrates several key technologies such as near-bit multi-parameter measurement, power supply and communication across positive displacement motor drills, turbine continuous power generation and high-speed mud pulse wireless transmission, capable of obtaining various types of parameters near the bit. It is one of the key components of intelligent drilling technology in underground coal mine. Acoustic detection for mines is a geophysical prospecting technique for mine information detection based on acoustic methods. Compared with other detection methods, acoustic detection has the advantages of wide applicability, high reliability, and low economic investment.
