Fiducial-Free Alignment Verification Techniques For Intracranial Radiosurgery, Kenneth Matthew Williams Jan 2013

Fiducial-Free Alignment Verification Techniques For Intracranial Radiosurgery, Kenneth Matthew Williams

Theses Digitization Project

This thesis serves as the basis for a method using image registration to automate patient alignment in an effort to eliminate the dependency on the fiducial markers as well as improve the accuracy efficiency of the alignment process. Proton beams are an external beam modality of radiation therapy that can be used effectively for radiosurgical applications due to the dosimetry advantage of the Bragg peak. The Bragg peak is a phenomenon exploited by proton beam therapy to concentrate the effect of the beams on the tumor while minimizing damage to critical structures and other health tissues within the patient.

A New Phantom And Gradient Isocenter Estimation For Magnetic Resonance Imaging Distortion Correction, Zongqi Cai Jan 2013

A New Phantom And Gradient Isocenter Estimation For Magnetic Resonance Imaging Distortion Correction, Zongqi Cai

Theses Digitization Project

The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a numerical software based method that can accurately correct the distortion of MR images generated by 3T MRI scanner. To accomplish this, a new phantom has been designed from scratch to capture the distortions inside 3T MRI scanner. An algorithm has been developed, based on the unique geometric feature of the new phantom, to estimate the location of gradient isocenter of the magnetic field inside 3T MRI scanner for the first time.

An Open Source Infrastructure For 3d Virtual Worlds, Amita Kale Jan 2011

An Open Source Infrastructure For 3d Virtual Worlds, Amita Kale

Theses Digitization Project

This project is the fourth iteration of Geng. The main purpose of this iteration is to re-structure and enhance the Geng library. Geng is an ongoing project at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at California State University San Bernardino. Geng is derived from the words "Game" and "Engine". Geng is a platform independent library that can be used to construct 3D virtual worlds.

Moops: A Web Implementation Of The Personal Software Process Reporting System, Thomas Russell Gigler Iii. Jan 2008

Moops: A Web Implementation Of The Personal Software Process Reporting System, Thomas Russell Gigler Iii.

Theses Digitization Project

The purpose of Moops is to bridge the gap between PSP Scriber, geared very specifically to the CSCI655 class, and other available PSP implications which are so general they are difficult to use immediately without valuable time spent learning the software. Moops is a PHP/MySQL based web application designed to provide the students taking the CSCI655 graduate software engineering course at CSUSB with an intuitive, easy to use tool to implement the Personal Software Process (PSP). Moops eliminates the possibility of errors in calculations by completing all calculations for the user.

Multi-User Game Development, Cheng-Yu Hung Jan 2007

Multi-User Game Development, Cheng-Yu Hung

Theses Digitization Project

This project included the development of a multi-user game that takes place in a 3 dimensional world of the computer science department. Basically, the game allows prospective students to meet existing students and faculty in a virtual open house that takes place within the third floor of Jack Brown Hall. Users can walk around Jack Brown Hall and type text messages to chat with each other.

Matwin: A Java Tool For Computing And Experimenting In Dynamical Systems, Ehab William Aziz Rezk Jan 2007

Matwin: A Java Tool For Computing And Experimenting In Dynamical Systems, Ehab William Aziz Rezk

Theses Digitization Project

The purpose of this project is to implement an integrated piece of software consisting of a number of graphics programs that support mathematical computation and experimentation in dynamical systems.

Optimized And Integrated Alignment System For Functional Proton Radiosurgery, Fadi Easa Shihadeh Jan 2007

Optimized And Integrated Alignment System For Functional Proton Radiosurgery, Fadi Easa Shihadeh

Theses Digitization Project

In this thesis work, a system for proton beam alignment was studied and optimized in many of its functional areas. The resulting system was named Positioning Alignment Control System (PACS). The PACS system is an integrated and efficient system as a result of the work done on it in the course of this thesis work.

Semantic Tableaux Program, Sirisha Lakshmi Vadaparty Jan 2006

Semantic Tableaux Program, Sirisha Lakshmi Vadaparty

Theses Digitization Project

This project created a program that takes predicate calculus formulas and creates a visual Semantic Tableaux truth tree, thereby proving or disproving a conclusion. Formal methods used in developing and verifying software and hardware are mathematically based techniques for describing and reasoning about system properties. Such formal methods provide frameworks within which people specify, develop, and verify systems in a systematic, rather than ad hoc, manner. Formal methods include the more specific activities of program specification, program verification and hardware verification.

Analysis Of Psp-Like Processes For Software Engineering, Paul Jefferson Conrad Jan 2006

Analysis Of Psp-Like Processes For Software Engineering, Paul Jefferson Conrad

Theses Digitization Project

The purpose of this thesis is to provide the California State University, San Bernardino, Department of Computer Science with an analysis and recommended solution to improving the software development process.

An Empirical Study: Usage Of The Unified Modeling Language In The Bachelor Of Science And Master Of Science Degree Programs At California State University, San Bernardino, Cynthia Patrice Farquhar Jan 2005

An Empirical Study: Usage Of The Unified Modeling Language In The Bachelor Of Science And Master Of Science Degree Programs At California State University, San Bernardino, Cynthia Patrice Farquhar

Theses Digitization Project

The Unified Modeling Language (UML) became part of the curriculum in the Department of Computer Science at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) in September 1997. The intent was to integrate the object-oriented paradigm in the undergraduate courses. Subsequently, this use has shifted to the graduate level. The purpose of this thesis is: 1) to determine what the students know about UML, 2) to reveal if the students were using UML, 3) to clarify how students use the UML.
