An Open Source Infrastructure For 3d Virtual Worlds, Amita Kale Jan 2011

An Open Source Infrastructure For 3d Virtual Worlds, Amita Kale

Theses Digitization Project

This project is the fourth iteration of Geng. The main purpose of this iteration is to re-structure and enhance the Geng library. Geng is an ongoing project at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at California State University San Bernardino. Geng is derived from the words "Game" and "Engine". Geng is a platform independent library that can be used to construct 3D virtual worlds.

An Open Source Graphics Engine For Three-Dimensional Video Games, David Lee Gardner Stover Jan 2010

An Open Source Graphics Engine For Three-Dimensional Video Games, David Lee Gardner Stover

Theses Digitization Project

The focus of this project is creating a new three dimensional (3D) game called Mythic which was developed at CSUSB. To support Mythic, a new game engine called Geng which is derived from "game" and "engine" is also being developed in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at CSUSB. MAGE, called the Multi-platform All purpose Graphics Engine provides support for keyframe animation, Cg, vertex and fragment shaders GLSL vertex and fragment shaders, loading static models stored in the Collada file format. The architecture of MAGE is based on a unified 3D graphics API that hides the specific implementation details …

Mythic Game Project Addition Of Artificial Intelligence And Quest System Components, Christopher Alan Ballinger Jan 2010

Mythic Game Project Addition Of Artificial Intelligence And Quest System Components, Christopher Alan Ballinger

Theses Digitization Project

This study will describe the design decisions and principles behind the artificial intelligence (AI) for a multiplayer online role playing game and the use of an expert system to implement it. Mythic is an active project focused on the development of all aspects of a multiplayer online role playing game (MORPG). The goal of Mythic is to develop a system with the capacity to offer similar capabilities as current MORPG games available on the market, as well as providing new innovative features to distinguish it from other MORPG games and make it attractive to potential players.

Integration Of Mapping Web Services And Scalable Vector Graphics, Suneetha Chinamuthevi Jan 2009

Integration Of Mapping Web Services And Scalable Vector Graphics, Suneetha Chinamuthevi

Theses Digitization Project

The purpose of this project was to develop a web-based application integrating mapping web services and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). This project helps a user locate a set of addresses anywhere in the United States on a map. The underlying mapping and address locator software systems are very complex and require large data sets and updates on a regular basis. The web services technology encapsulates tose complexities and exposes the required functionality in a secure manner over the internet.

Implementation Of Reinforcement Learning In Game Strategy Design, Chien-Yu Lin Jan 2008

Implementation Of Reinforcement Learning In Game Strategy Design, Chien-Yu Lin

Theses Digitization Project

The purpose of this study is to apply reinforcement learning to the design of game strategy. In the gaming industry, the strategy used by computers to win a game is usually pre-programmed by game designers according to the game patterns or a set of rules.

Multi-User Game Development, Cheng-Yu Hung Jan 2007

Multi-User Game Development, Cheng-Yu Hung

Theses Digitization Project

This project included the development of a multi-user game that takes place in a 3 dimensional world of the computer science department. Basically, the game allows prospective students to meet existing students and faculty in a virtual open house that takes place within the third floor of Jack Brown Hall. Users can walk around Jack Brown Hall and type text messages to chat with each other.

An Image Delta Compression Tool: Idelta, Kevin Michael Sullivan Jan 2004

An Image Delta Compression Tool: Idelta, Kevin Michael Sullivan

Theses Digitization Project

The purpose of this thesis is to present a modified version of the algorithm used in the open source differencing tool zdelta, entitled "iDelta". This algorithm will manage file data and will be built specifically to difference images in the Photoshop file format.
