Honey bee (Apis mellifera) is one of the most important pollinating species in agriculture. The decline in the bee population worldwide is a sign of something going amiss in the environment. This decrease in the population is attributed to the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). In this thesis, a power analysis is presented of a solar-powered, multi-sensor electronic beehive monitoring (EBM) system. EBM may contribute to our understanding of the major factors affecting the health of honeybee colonies without disturbing the colonies' daily behavioral patterns or putting extra burdens on beekeepers.
