Blockchain technology is a secure and relatively new technology of distributed digital ledgers which is based on interlinked blocks of transactions. There is a rapid growth in the adoption of the blockchain technology in different solutions and applications and within different industries throughout the world, such as but not limited to, finance, supply chain, digital identity, energy, healthcare, real estate and government. Blockchain technology has great benefits such as decentralization, transparency, immutability and automation. Like any other emerging technology, the blockchain technology has also several risks and threats associated with its expected benefits which in turns could have a negative …
Controlling Aircraft Yaw Movement By Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic, Yamama Shafeek, Laith Majeed, Rasha Naji
Controlling Aircraft Yaw Movement By Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic, Yamama Shafeek, Laith Majeed, Rasha Naji
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
Aircraft yaw movement is essential in maneuvering; it has been controlled by some methods which achieved tracking but not fast enough. This paper performs the dynamic modeling of aircraft yaw movement and develops PI and PI-like interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller for the model. The mathematical model is derived by inserting the parameters values of single-engine Navion aircraft into standard equations. Using Matlab/ Simulink platform, the controllers' effectivity is tested and verified in two different cases; system without disturbance and when system is disturbed by some wind gust to investigate the system robustness. Simulation results show that PI controller response …
Modified Surrogate Cutting Plane Algorithm (Mscpa) For Integer Linear Programming Problems, Israa Hasan
Modified Surrogate Cutting Plane Algorithm (Mscpa) For Integer Linear Programming Problems, Israa Hasan
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
This work concerned with introducing a new algorithm for solving integer linear programming problems. The improved algorithm can help by decreasing a calculation the complexity of these problems, an advantages of the proposed method are to reduce the solution time and to decrease algorithmic complexity. Some specific numerical examples are discussed to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method. The numerical results are compared with the solution of integer linear programming problems by using cutting plane method (Gomory method).

A business model is a plan for the successful operation of a business, identifying the source of revenue, the intended customers, value proposition, key resources, activities, and financing. It describes how organizations create, deliver and capture value. The recent developments in information and communications technology (ICT) disrupted most business models in different industries. The higher education industry is no exception, where it witnessed enormous integration of information and communications technologies. E-learning in higher education has made a tremendous shift in students’ life and raised the expectations of higher education service quality. The main objective of this thesis to develop a …

Sdhcare: Secured Distributed Healthcare System, Mohammed R. S. Al Baqari
Information Security Theses
In the healthcare sector, the move towards Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems has been accelerating in parallel with the increased adoption of IoT and smart devices. This is driven by the anticipated advantages for patients and healthcare providers. The integration of EHR and IoT makes it highly heterogeneous in terms of devices, network standards, platforms, types of data, connectivity, etc. Additionally, it introduces security, patient and data privacy, and trust challenges. To address such challenges, this thesis proposes an architecture that combines biometric-based blockchain technology with the EHR system. More specifically, this thesis describes a mechanism that uses a patient’s …

Dementia is a condition in which higher mental functions are disrupted. It currently affects an estimated 57 million people throughout the world. Dementia diagnosis is difficult since neither anatomical indicator nor functional testing are currently sufficiently sensitive or specific. There remains a long list of outstanding issues that must be addressed. First, multimodal diagnosis has yet to be introduced into the early stages of dementia screening. Second, there is no accurate instrument for predicting the progression of pre-dementia. Third, non-invasive testing cannot be used to provide differential diagnoses. By creating ML models of normal and accelerated brain aging, we intend …
Establishing An Information System For Documenting Valuable Buildings By Using Gis In Egypt, Mona Mahrous Abdel Wahed
Establishing An Information System For Documenting Valuable Buildings By Using Gis In Egypt, Mona Mahrous Abdel Wahed
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
Valuable heritage buildings are the history of nations, and history forms the identities of these nations. Many of these buildings are exposed to deterioration, destruction and distortion. Therefore, it is essential to protect and maintain these buildings to protect history. Effective documentation of valuable buildings is necessary to guide and assist stakeholders in making decisions regarding valuable buildings. Documentation requires robust and scientific methods. Therefore, it is important to utilize new technology in general and geographic information system GIS in particular in documenting valuable buildings. GIS has the potential to contribute and deal with valuable buildings at various stages and …
