Performance Indicators Analysis Inside A Call Center Using A Simulation Program, Ditila Ekmekçiu, Markela Muça, Adrian Naço

International Journal of Business and Technology

This paper deals with and shows the results of different performance indicators analyses made utilizing the help of Simulation and concentrated on dimensioning problems of handling calls capacity in a call center. The goal is to measure the reactivity of the call center’s performance to potential changes of critical variables. The literature related to the employment of this kind of instrument in call centers is reviewed, and the method that this problem is treated momentarily is precisely described. The technique used to obtain this paper’s goal implicated a simulation model using Arena Contact Center software that worked as a key …

Dynamic Simulation Of The Cad Model In Simmechanics With Multiple Uses, Jiri Zátopek, Zdenek Ú?Ední?Ek, José Machado, João Sousa Jan 2018

Dynamic Simulation Of The Cad Model In Simmechanics With Multiple Uses, Jiri Zátopek, Zdenek Ú?Ední?Ek, José Machado, João Sousa

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

When designing a mechatronic system, several steps are taken into account. One of the main steps is the design of a CAD model representing the physical part of the system, and another major point is the development of the mathematical model necessary for the respective controller design. This paper combines both design steps and shows the advantages of using this approach. First, a CAD model is created considering the kinematic and dynamic behavior of the system as well as respective material properties. This CAD model is, in parallel, used for both purposes: as the main basis for developing a mathematical …

Scenario Development For Unmanned Aircraft System Simulation-Based Immersive Experiential Learning, Nickolas D. Macchiarella, Alexander J. Mirot Jan 2018

Scenario Development For Unmanned Aircraft System Simulation-Based Immersive Experiential Learning, Nickolas D. Macchiarella, Alexander J. Mirot

Journal of Aviation/Aerospace Education & Research

Application of scenario-based training can serve as practical means of educating remote pilots and sensor operators as they seek professional levels of knowledge. Both education and training can build upon time-tested training and simulation methodologies that apply simulators in settings that mirror real-world operations. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s unmanned aircraft system (UAS) program curriculum is rooted in immersive simulation that offers students an experiential learning experience that is aimed to develop higher-order thinking skills. Skills that are critical to professional levels of performance. The degree program builds from basic application skills to critical thinking skills by using immersive scenario-based training in …

A Model-Based Transformation Framework For Designing And Analyzing Wireless Sensor Networks, Raoudha Saida, Yessine Hadj Kacem, Mohammed Sulaiman Bensaleh, Mohamed Abid Jan 2018

A Model-Based Transformation Framework For Designing And Analyzing Wireless Sensor Networks, Raoudha Saida, Yessine Hadj Kacem, Mohammed Sulaiman Bensaleh, Mohamed Abid

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) comprise resource-constrained (e.g., memory, processing, and energy) sensor nodes that are deployed in different areas and are able to monitor environmental conditions. Simulation has been widely used in order to evaluate the network performance. In this context, software designers need to evaluate, refine, and validate high-level models for WSN applications at early stages of development via simulation tools, in particular for WSN applications supporting energy-harvesting devices. In the present paper, we propose a model-based transformation framework that allows the modeling and simulation of a WSN system supporting energy-harvesting capabilities. In this proposal, we start from a …
