Attribute-Based Cloud Data Integrity Auditing For Secure Outsourced Storage, Yong Yu, Yannan Li, Bo Yang, Willy Susilo, Guomin Yang, Jian Bai

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems

Outsourced storage such as cloud storage can significantly reduce the burden of data management of data owners. Despite of a long list of merits of cloud storage, it triggers many security risks at the same time. Data integrity, one of the most burning challenges in secure cloud storage, is a fundamental and pivotal element in outsourcing services. Outsourced data auditing protocols enable a verifier to efficiently check the integrity of the outsourced files without downloading the entire file from the cloud, which can dramatically reduce the communication overhead between the cloud server and the verifier. Existing protocols are mostly based …

Security Issues In Data Warehouse, Saiqa Aleem, Luiz Fernando Capretz, Faheem Ahmed Dr. Dec 2014

Security Issues In Data Warehouse, Saiqa Aleem, Luiz Fernando Capretz, Faheem Ahmed Dr.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Publications

Data Warehouse (DWH) provides storage for huge amounts of historical data from heterogeneous operational sources in the form of multidimensional views, thus supplying sensitive and useful information which help decision-makers to improve the organization’s business processes. A data warehouse environment must ensure that data collected and stored in one big repository are not vulnerable. A review of security approaches specifically for data warehouse environment and issues concerning each type of security approach have been provided in this paper.

Effective Entity Resolution Methodology For Improving Data Quality And Reliability Of Service-Oriented Applications, Ewa Musial Jan 2014

Effective Entity Resolution Methodology For Improving Data Quality And Reliability Of Service-Oriented Applications, Ewa Musial

Legacy Theses & Dissertations (2009 - 2024)

This dissertation proposes new paradigms for improving the testing, reliability of service-oriented applications as well as the quality of data. Since it is difficult to track information flowing through the multiple tiers of an application, testing service-oriented systems can be very challenging. We present a methodology for testing service-oriented applications that takes into account all the components, including services, external services, and data components. The results of our experiments demonstrate that this approach greatly improves the effectiveness of testing service-oriented applications.

A Robust Damage Assessment Model For Corrupted Database Systems, Ge Fu, Hong Zhu, Yingjiu Li Dec 2009

A Robust Damage Assessment Model For Corrupted Database Systems, Ge Fu, Hong Zhu, Yingjiu Li

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems

An intrusion tolerant database uses damage assessment techniques to detect damage propagation scales in a corrupted database system. Traditional damage assessment approaches in a intrusion tolerant database system can only locate damages which are caused by reading corrupted data. In fact, there are many other damage spreading patterns that have not been considered in traditional damage assessment model. In this paper, we systematically analyze inter-transaction dependency relationships that have been neglected in the previous research and propose four different dependency relationships between transactions which may cause damage propagation. We extend existing damage assessment model based on the four novel dependency …
