A Theoretical Study An Influence Of Oxygen Group Elements To Rotational Barrier Of 2-(2'-Pyridyl)-1,3,4-Oxa(Thia, Selena And Tellura) Diazoles, Alisher Eshimbetov, Khamza Toshov, Inderpreet Kaur, Alisher Khaitboev

Bulletin of National University of Uzbekistan: Mathematics and Natural Sciences

Surveying of the references shows that selenium and tellurium containing compounds will be one of the most promising heterocycles in the future. Therefore, the influence of oxygen group elements -- O, S, Se and Te to rotational barrier heights of 2-(2'-pyridyl)-1,3,4-oxa (thia, selena and tellura) diazoles were investigated by DFT/def2-TZVP method and also by DFT/6-311G(d) method only for O, S and Se series. And also, their thermodynamic parameters (ΔH,ΔG) were calculated in gas phase. Furthermore, some model compounds with conjugated C=C-C=C, N=C-C=C and N=C-C=N fragments with neighbouring chalcogen atoms were considered. It was found that, a rising of barrier heights …

Triperyleno[3,3,3]Propellane Triimides: Achieving A New Generation Of Quasi-D3h Symmetric Nanostructures In Organic Electronics, Lingling Lv, Josiah Roberts, Chengyi Xiao, Zhenmei Jia, Wei Jiang, Chad Risko, Lei Zhang

Chemistry Faculty Publications

Rigid three-dimensional (3D) polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), in particular 3D nanographenes, have garnered interest due to their potential use in semiconductor applications and as models to study through-bond and through-space electronic interactions. Herein we report the development of a novel 3D-symmetric rylene imide building block, triperyleno[3,3,3]propellane triimides (6), that possesses three perylene monoimide subunits fused on a propellane. This building block shows several promising characteristics, including high solubility, large π-surfaces, electron-accepting capabilities, and a variety of reactive sites. Further, the building block is compatible with different reactions to readily yield quasi-D3h symmetric nanostructures (9, …

Mechanistic Studies And Derivative Effects In 1, 3, 4- Oxadiazole Synthesis Via Cyclodehydration Reactions, Evan Huggins Apr 2019

Mechanistic Studies And Derivative Effects In 1, 3, 4- Oxadiazole Synthesis Via Cyclodehydration Reactions, Evan Huggins

Undergraduate Honors Thesis Projects

In the world of pharmaceutical synthesis, research to combat foreign pathogens is always necessary. Scientists have been exploring different methods in order to synthesize the most effective compounds in antibacterial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and many other treatments. A key component within these versatile compounds are 1,3,4-oxadiazoles. Current methods to synthesize these compounds are inefficient. This research seeks to improve oxadiazole synthesis; however, the mechanism of this reaction is unknown. The goal of this project was to study the mechanistic pathway in the discovered, one-pot cyclodehydration synthesis of 1,3,4-oxadiazoles. In the first part of this study, a diacylhydrazine intermediate was proposed. This …

Synthesis And Bioactivity Of Sulfide Derivatives Containing 1,3,4-Oxadiazole And Pyridine, Gang Yu, Shunhong Chen, Feng He, Dexia Luo, Yu Zhang, Jian Wu Jan 2019

Synthesis And Bioactivity Of Sulfide Derivatives Containing 1,3,4-Oxadiazole And Pyridine, Gang Yu, Shunhong Chen, Feng He, Dexia Luo, Yu Zhang, Jian Wu

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A series of novel sulfide derivatives containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole and pyridine were synthesized, characterized, and tested for their antibacterial activity against tobacco bacterial wilt and rice bacterial blight and for insecticidal activity toward diamondback moth. The results showed that some compounds had good insecticidal and bactericidal activity, e.g., the activities of compounds 6e and 6g-6j toward tobacco bacterial wilt were much better than those of commercial thiodiazole-copper, and some of the synthesized compounds possessed good insecticidal activity against Plutella xylostella. Compounds 6d, 6h, 6j, 6l, 6p, 6r, and 6p displayed over 93% activity at 500 mg L$^{-1}$.

Synthesis, Characterization, And Nonlinear Optical Properties Of Some New Series Of S-(5-Aryl-1,3,4-Oxadiazol-2-Yl) 2-Chloroethanethioate Derivatives, Zahra Dono Ghezelbash, Hamideh Motiei, Miri Mahmoody, Karim Akbari Delmaghani

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

In the present investigation, some novel S-(5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)2-chloroethanethioate (3a-3e) derivatives were synthesized and their impact on optical properties was studied. They have also been characterized by elemental analysis and various spectroscopic methods including FTIR, $^{1}$H NMR, $^{13}$C NMR, and UV-Vis techniques. The nonlinear refractive indexes of 3a-3e were also measured in dichloromethane via Z-scan method using a continuous wave diode-pumped laser at 532 nm wavelength. The nonlinear refractive coefficient of compounds was obtained from ${10}^{11}\, \, {m}^{{2}}{/W}$ order. Regarding the appropriate nonlinearity of these compounds, they could be considered good candidates for biooptical and photonic applications. All the synthesized compounds (3a-3e) …
