Determination Of Ketamine Using Melamine-Modified Gold Nanoparticles, Güler Güneş, Zi̇ya Can, Ayşem Arda, Mustafa Reşat Apak

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Ketamine is used in medicine because of its anaesthetic and antidepressant effects at low doses. Unfortunately, due to its narcotic effect when used at high doses, its abuse among young people is increasing. It is also one of the most common drugs used in rape. Therefore, there is a need for fast and inexpensive tests that can be performed on-site. With the advancement of nanotechnology, nanoparticle-based approaches have found their place in selective analyses as in many fields. In the developed method, firstly gold nanoparticles were modified with melamine (AuNPs@Mel). Under optimized conditions, hydrogen bonds formed between ketamine and AuNPs@Mel …

Evaluation Of Photochemically Cross-Linked Collagen/Gold Nanoparticle Composites As Potential Skin Tissue Scaffolds, Evri̇m Meri̇ç Yelkuvan, Özge Erdemli̇, Bengi̇ Yilmaz, Ömer Aktürk Jan 2023

Evaluation Of Photochemically Cross-Linked Collagen/Gold Nanoparticle Composites As Potential Skin Tissue Scaffolds, Evri̇m Meri̇ç Yelkuvan, Özge Erdemli̇, Bengi̇ Yilmaz, Ömer Aktürk

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Collagen type I is the main structural unit in skin tissue and is therefore used preferentially in skin tissue scaffolds. However, collagen-based 3D scaffolds have weak aqueous stability and degradation profiles in their uncross-linked states and chemical cross-linking reagents arise toxicity concerns, which generally restrict the spectrum of their biomedical applicability. Here, the research goal is to photochemically cross-link collagen type I with rose bengal (RB) when subjected to green laser light and to investigate the effect of silk sericin-capped gold nanoparticles (S-AuNP) when incorporated into scaffolds on the cross-linking process and thus on the scaffold properties. All the collagen …

Spectrophotometric And Colorimetric Determination Of Gallium (Iii) With P-Aminohippuricacid-Functionalized Citrate Capped Gold Nanoparticles, Asi̇ye Aslihan Avan

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A new technique for sensing Ga(III) concentration based on polyvinyl alcohol-citrate capped gold nanoparticle-p-aminohippuric acid hybrid (or three-layer core-shell configurations) has been demonstrated. The p-aminohippuric acid capped citrate-gold nanoparticles were comfortably agglomerated in the presence of Ga(III), and the color of the reaction quickly turned from red to violet or blue. Under the detection conditions, a good linear relationship was ideally obtained between the ratio of the absorbance intensity at 620 nm to that at 520 nm (A620/A520). The linear response range, the detection, and quantification limit was 34.9-418.3 μg/L and 7.6 μg/L, and 25 μg/L, respectively. To reflect the …

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

This work describes the synthesis of mixed oxide film of vanadium and ruthenium by pulsed deposition technique on multiwall carbon nanotubes and the decoration of gold nanoparticles on the mixed film. A ternary electrocatalyst has been developed for the electrochemical oxidation of hydrazine by combining two metal oxide mixtures with Au nanoparticles. Surface morphology and chemical composition of the electrode have been examined with SEM, EDX, HRTEM, EIS, and XRD. The peak current of hydrazine increased 9 times at the AuNPs/(VOx-RuOx)/CNT/GCE compared to the bare GCE, and the peak potential shifted to negative 848 mV. Linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and …

Puerarin-Coated Gold Nanoparticles (Pue-Aunps) Synthesized Via Green Synthetic Route: A New Colorimetric Probe For The Detection Of Ciprofloxacin, Tasneem Zehra, Faiqa Ahsan, Muhammad Ali Versiani, Sana Wahid, Sajid Jahangir, Muhammad Raza Shah

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Puerarin-coated gold nanoparticles (PUE-AuNPs) synthesized via green synthetic route, a new colorimetric sensor, efficiently detected the ciprofloxacin (CP) in tap water and cow milk samples. The PUE-AuNPs were characterized by UV-visible, FTIR, AFM, and DLS techniques and were found to be spherical with an average size of approximately 19-20 nm. FTIR spectrum confirms that functional groups such as -OH, -C=O, -CO and -C=C were responsible for the reduction of gold (III) chloride trihydrate. These functional groups acted as capping agents to form AuNPs. The PUE-AuNPs sensor was proved to be selective and sensitive for the detection of CP through colorimetric …

Spectrophotometric Analysis Of Stability Of Gold Nanoparticles During Catalytic Reduction Of 4-Nitrophenol, Farhat Saira, Samia Saleemi, Humaira Razzaq, Rumana Qureshi

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Spectrophotometric monitoring of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) reduction by sodium borohydride (NaBH4) using gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as a catalyst has been extensively studied, but the stability of GNPs in terms of change in the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) at different temperatures has not been explored. In the present investigation, our aim was to evaluate the SPR stability of GNPs as a catalyst during the reduction of 4-NP at different elevated temperatures (i.e. 30-60 °C) and sodium borohydride concentrations. Sensitivity of this degradation process toward concentration of GNPs at a range of temperatures is also evaluated. The spectrophotometric results reveal that up to …

Nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The application of mechanochemistry in …

A Novel Fluorimetric Method For Determination Of Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloridein Pharmaceutical Formulations And Blood Serum, Nazli Farajzadeh, Nasrin Ranjbar Nader Jan 2020

A Novel Fluorimetric Method For Determination Of Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloridein Pharmaceutical Formulations And Blood Serum, Nazli Farajzadeh, Nasrin Ranjbar Nader

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

An inexpensive, simple, highly sensitive, and rapid fluorimetric method was developed for the analysis of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride at trace levels. The method is based on the recovery of fluorescence of Rh6G dye due to the interaction of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride with Rh6G-Au NPs complex, which results in the release of Rh6G from the complex and halting fluorescence resonance energy transfer between Rh6G and Au NPs. The intensity of fluorescence was directly proportional to the concentration of the analyte, which was used for its determination. Experimental factors were optimized by response-surface methodology. Under optimum conditions, the calibration curve was linear over the …

Linear Assembly And 3d Networks Of Peptide Modified Gold Nanoparticles, Şaban Kalay, Clement Blanchet, Mustafa Çulha

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

The charge and size of molecules chemically attached to nanoparticles (NPs) play an important role in their interaction behavior in suspensions. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were modified systematically with peptides and the modification was verified with surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The behavior of the modified AuNPs in suspension and at the liquid--solid interface was monitored using small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), UV/Vis spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering (DLS) in suspension, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) at the solid--liquid interface. It was found that while negatively charged peptide modified AuNPs behave very similar to citrate reduced AuNPs due to their negatively charged …
