Reliability Estimates Of Generalized Poisson Distribution And Generalized Geometric Series Distribution, Adil H. Khan, T R. Jan
Reliability Estimates Of Generalized Poisson Distribution And Generalized Geometric Series Distribution, Adil H. Khan, T R. Jan
Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods
Discrete distributions have played an important role in the reliability theory. In order to obtain Bayes estimators, researchers have adopted various conventional techniques. Generalizing the results of Maiti (1995), Chaturvadi and Tomer (2002) dealt with the problem of estimating P{X1, X2, …, Xk ≤ Y}, where random variables X and Y were assumed to follow a negative binomial distribution. Agit et al. obtained Bayesian estimates of the reliability functions and P{X1, X2, …, Xk ≤ Y} considering X and Y following binomial and Poisson …
On Bayesian Estimation And Predictions For Two-Component Mixture Of The Gompertz Distribution, Navid Feroze, Muhammad Aslam
On Bayesian Estimation And Predictions For Two-Component Mixture Of The Gompertz Distribution, Navid Feroze, Muhammad Aslam
Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods
Mixtures models have received sizeable attention from analysts in the recent years. Some work on Bayesian estimation of the parameters of mixture models have appeared. However, the were restricted to the Bayes point estimation The methodology for the Bayesian interval estimation of the parameters for said models is still to be explored. This paper proposes the posterior interval estimation (along with point estimation) for the parameters of a two-component mixture of the Gompertz distribution. The posterior predictive intervals are also derived and evaluated. Different informative and non-informative priors are assumed under a couple of loss functions for the posterior analysis. …
Inverted Exponential Distribution Under A Bayesian Viewpoint, Gyan Prakash
Inverted Exponential Distribution Under A Bayesian Viewpoint, Gyan Prakash
Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods
The objective of this study was to examine the properties of Bayes estimators of the parameter, reliability function and hazard rate under the symmetric and asymmetric loss functions for the inverted exponential model. The Bayes predictive interval and the Bayes estimate of shift point are also determined. A simulation study was carried out to study the properties of the Bayes estimators.
