Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Case Study Of Mikey, Gabrielle Lober
Honors Theses
This paper describes Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including diagnostic criteria, suspected causes, prevalence, comorbidities, and influences on client factors. A hypothetical case study is presented to give readers an illustration of what someone with ASD might look like. The Elements Of Healing And Wellness Post Diagnosis Of Cancer: A Review Of The Literature And A Personal Account, Tiffany Bystra

Being diagnosed with cancer is an earth-shaking experience that can break even the most strong and stable of individuals. Thoughts of uncertainty and anxiety are commonly experienced for those having been diagnosed, and when one’s health is compromised, nothing else seems to matter except becoming healthy and well again. The Efficacy Of Emdr: A Meta-Analysis Of Emdr As Clinical Treatment, Allison Smith
The Efficacy Of Emdr: A Meta-Analysis Of Emdr As Clinical Treatment, Allison Smith
Honors Theses
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a controversial clinical treatment most often used in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders. Many clinicians use this therapy, but no consensus exists whether this treatment works. This meta-analytic review examined EMDR versus waitlist or alternative treatments, in adult and child populations, and in reduction of depression and anxiety symptoms. Results indicate that EMDR has no significant effect in the reduction of symptoms in either population for either psychological disorder. Implications for further research are discussed.

Acl Injuries In Female Athletes: Are Prevention Programs The Answer?, Brooke Chandor
Honors Theses
Around 400,000 people tear their anterior cruciate ligaments (ACLs) every year in the United States. The majority of these injuries occur during athletics, and most commonly to females. Their neuromuscular abilities, anatomies, and hormones put female athletes at a much higher risk of ACL injury than male athletes. The current gold standard of treatment, ACL reconstruction, is an imperfect technique at best. It leaves patients with much higher risk of both ACL reinjury and early onset of osteoarthritis. Prevention programs, aimed at reducing the neuromuscular risk factors in female athletes, have proved to effectively reduce the number of noncontact ACL …
