Background: Intrathecal baclofen (ITB) pumps have been used for management of spasticity and dystonia There is limited data on immediate post-operative complications such as GI adverse events after surgery for ITB pump related procedures. This study aimed to compare patients who underwent a pre-operative bowel cleanout to those who did not and the relationship with post-operative nausea, vomiting and constipation requiring an escalation of their bowel regimen. Design: Retrospective cohort study. Setting: Pediatric acute care hospital. Participants: All patients who underwent new ITB pump and/or catheter placement from January 2015-December 2022. Background: Adaptive downhill skiing has been described as a fun, safe, engaging recreational activity for those with disabilities (Sterba, 2006). There are numerous ways the alpine skiing can be modified to meet these athletes’ needs. For instance, athletes can use tethered skis, horizontal poles held by their instructors, or modified walkers. For those that have poor standing balance, or are non-ambulatory, sit-skis are an option, with or without outriggers to add additional support and balance for athletes with poor trunk stability or core strength. Problem Statement/Question: Reliance on provider and administrative staff to be physically present at Adele Hall creates delays in delivery of completed documentation. Delays of up to 7-14 days are possible. Delays in completion result in outside offices resending (wasted duplication of work) requests and delay downstream delivery of equipment/services, ultimately negatively impacting patient care. Over a 2-week period in November 2022, it took at average of 6.08 days for time to completion of requests. Over a 4-week period in August 2022, divisional outgoing faxes in response to requests averaged 79.5 per week. In addition, reliance on hardcopies of requests increases …

Case Diagnosis Acquired brain injury (ABI) is a common cause of disability. It is defined as an insult to the brain that subsequently results in impairments of communication, cognition, sensorimotor function and behavior. Anoxic brain injuries can be particularly disabling. A common cause of a anoxic injury in children is cardiopulmonary arrest. The revised coma recovery scale (CRS-R) is a standardized assessment for level of arousal after brain injury. Case Description A 16 year old healthy boy was admitted after an unwitnessed pulseless cardiopulmonary arrest requiring 3 defibrillations and 2mg of epinephrine.
