Introduction: Since the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, Black, and Latinx populations have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It can be inferred with high confidence that those most vulnerable are the least likely to receive essential care. Kidney transplant allocation and COVID-19 triage protocols share commonalities in that both protocols involve using multivariate scored criteria with objective and subjective inputs. As such, the similar conclusion in outcomes is concerning. It is worth questioning whether the racial inequalities demonstrated in the COVID-19 pandemic related to access to life-saving ventilators were associated with triage protocols.

Influenza (flu) is an infectious, respiratory disease that causes substantial burden and mortality, and Non-Hispanic Black people experience profound disparities in flu disease burden in the United States. One contributor to flu disease disparities is lower flu vaccination rates among Black populations. This qualitative study was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic and used the Public Health Critical Race Praxis framework to center and elicit Black adults’ perspectives of desired flu vaccine messaging. The mammary gland is an exocrine gland present in female mammals responsible for the production and secretion of milk during the process of lactation. It is mainly composed by epithelial cells and adipocytes. Problem: Human papillomaviruses are the causative agents of >95% of cervical cancers, most oropharyngeal and anogenital cancers, yet the vaccination status of the population remains critically low despite Gardasil9 offering robust protection against HPV-related disease.

Methods: This quality improvement project utilized a descriptive, observational design to assess the effect of the HPV Encouragement Bundle, a two-step intervention to improve HPV vaccine uptake. Quantitative data was collected via retrospective chart review to assess the effect of the intervention on first-dose administration of Gardasil9 (series initiation), as well as overall Gardasil9 vaccine uptake.

Prevalensi global stroke dan sindrom metabolik, sebagai kumpulan faktor risiko utama yang mempengaruhi stroke terus mengalami peningkatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat hubungan antara sindrom metabolik dan kejadian stroke di Indonesia. Desain studi ini adalah cross-sectional dan menggunakan data survei skala nasional. Responden berusia >15 tahun yang mengalami stroke dengan data lengkap terkait pengukuran lingkar perut, tekanan darah, kadar glukosa darah, trigliserida, dan kadar high-density lipoprotein akan masuk dalam studi ini. Model regresi logistik digunakan dalam analisis kami. Dari 24.451 responden, studi kami menunjukkan mayoritas berusia <55 tahun (73,9%), perempuan (62,2%), dengan proporsi penderita stroke serta proporsi sindrom metabolik adalah 1,2%, dan 24,4%. Studi ini memperlihatkan adanya hubungan antara sindrom metabolik dan kejadian stroke (adj POR: 2,4; 95% CI: 1,9-3,1). Analisis Survival: Hubungan Konversi Sputum Dengan Keberhasilan Pengobatan Pasien Tuberkulosis Resistan Obat Di Indonesia, Shena Masyita Deviernur, Nurhayati Adnan

Angka keberhasilan pengobatan Tuberkulosis Resistan Obat (TB RO) di Indonesia masih rendah. Konversi sputum dapat menjadi monitoring awal untuk memantau keberhasilan pengobatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara konversi sputum <3 bulan dengan keberhasilan pengobatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kohort retrospektif dengan data yang bersumber dari sistem informasi tuberkulosis Kementerian Kesehatan RI. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah pasien TB RO yang memulai pengobatan tahun 2020-2021 di Indonesia dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 8.025 kasus dan participation rate sebesar 88,6%. Kurva Kaplan Meier dengan uji log-rank dibuat untuk analisis deskriptif, sedangkan analisis regresi Cox digunakan untuk melihat hubungan antara konversi sputum dengan keberhasilan pengobatan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 45,9% pasien konversi sputum < 3 bulan pengobatan dengan 74,6% memiliki keberhasilan pengobatan. Secara keseluruhan median time untuk keberhasilan pengobatan berdasarkan konversi sputum < 3 bulan adalah bulan ke-18. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan konversi sputum < 3 bulan 1,25 (95% CI 1,18-1,34) lebih tinggi peluangnya untuk mencapai keberhasilan pengobatan dibandingkan pasien yang tidak konversi < 3 bulan setelah dikontrol oleh status HIV dan paduan pengobatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa monitoring konversi sputum dapat menjadi cara untuk melakukan monitoring keberhasilan pengobatan sedini mungkin. Konversi sputum merupakan standar yang dilakukan untuk pemantauan pengobatan pasien TB RO. Namun jumlah laboratorium yang dapat melakukan pemeriksaan untuk konversi pada pasien TB RO masih terbatas. Perlu adanya perluasan layanan dan peningkatan mutu layanan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan konversi sputum pada pasien TB RO.

Urban American Indian adults living in the United States who used traditional healing and biomedical health services for type 2 diabetes were recruited for the study through purposive sampling, including snowball sampling. The purpose of this study was to understand acculturation and race/ethnicity influences in the home and school environment that affect physical activity and nutrition in female adolescents attending middle school. Background Size at birth, an indicator of intrauterine growth, has been studied extensively in relation to subsequent health, growth and developmental outcomes. Our umbrella review synthesises evidence from systematic reviews and meta-analyses on the effects of size at birth on subsequent health, growth and development in children and adolescents up to age 18, and identifies gaps.

Methods We searched five databases from inception to mid-July 2021 to identify eligible systematic reviews and meta-analyses. For each meta-analysis, we extracted data on the exposures and outcomes measured and the strength of the association.
