This evidence-based practice project evaluated the implementation of the Ask Me 3® health literacy tool in a pediatric perioperative setting to improve caregiver understanding of medical information and communication with healthcare providers. Findings suggest that Ask Me 3® supports health literacy and caregiver engagement, while patient experience measures related to nurse communication, listening, and caregiver comfort improved following implementation.

This poster describes a quality improvement initiative that integrated psychiatric resource nurses as subject matter experts (SMEs) into clinical documentation workflows to improve documentation compliance for high-risk behavioral health patients. The intervention resulted in substantial improvements in charting accuracy and compliance, including an increase in emergency department documentation compliance from 28% to 95% over seven months, while enhancing staff education, collaboration, and patient safety.

A rate-limiting step in the prevention and early intervention of osteoporosis is identifying its asymptomatic onset. Accumulating evidence shows that sleep disorders are associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis. Given their early detectable and modifiable nature, integrating sleep disorder management into osteoporosis prevention and care pathways offers a novel approach for enhancing skeletal health. Background

Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is a leading cause of obstetric morbidity and peripartum hysterectomy. Rising cesarean delivery rates, advanced maternal age, and assisted reproductive technologies have increased its incidence. Early, standardized diagnosis is essential for multidisciplinary planning and improved outcomes, yet formal screening guidelines are lacking.

Objective

To raise awareness of the importance of antenatal screening for PAS, summarize key clinical and imaging risk factors, and propose a standardized mid-trimester ultrasound protocol for high-risk patients.

Introduction: Prenatal diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) depends on reliable ultrasound markers and skilled image interpretation. Existing PAS markers emphasize placental features suggestive of abnormal adherence and require advanced image optimization. However, emerging hypotheses suggest that uterine dehiscence—not placental invasion—is the central mechanism underlying PAS, particularly in severe (Grade 3) disease. Despite this, few established ultrasound markers address this uterine dehiscence. We describe a novel ultrasound marker, the taper sign, which uniquely represents the uterine dehiscence in severe PAS with anterior placenta previa, and outline a standardized technique for image acquisition and interpretation.

Pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) affect women's quality of life through physical, psychological, and social domains. The Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 (PFDI-20) and the Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaire-7 (PFIQ-7) are validated tools for assessing symptom severity and quality of life impact. The current study aim to investigate the reliability and validity of the Hungarian versions of these questionnaires in women with PFD symptoms.

OBJECTIVE: To compare areas of consensus and disagreements across contemporary international and national guidelines on the diagnosis, surveillance, and management of fetal growth restriction (FGR).

DATA SOURCES: Electronic searches of MEDLINE from database inception up to March 2026 using MeSH terms and keywords related to FGR and guidelines. STUDY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Critical, structured comparison of national or international guidelines on FGR published since 2010. Final inclusion required unanimous agreement from all authors.

Warfare represents a significant source of acute and chronic stress, yet its impact on pregnancy outcomes remains unclear. Background Piriformis syndrome (PS) is a neuromuscular disorder with significant impact on workforce productivity. This case report presents a comprehensive evaluation of fitness for work and job modification strategies for a patient with PS in a combined physical and sedentary working environment. A 44-year-old male medical facility supervisor presented with left buttock pain, radiating to the left leg, diagnosed with left gluteal piriformis syndrome. Background This evidence-based case report examines whether metabolic comorbidities independently predict return to work (RTW) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for myocardial infarction. A 52-year-old male senior manager with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and central obesity underwent PCI and required structured occupational assessment.

Methods A systematic literature search identified five eligible studies—one national registry cohort, three prospective cohort studies, and one narrative systematic review—critically appraised using Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine criteria.

This mixed methods study examined the impact of menopause on women’s body image and self-acceptance through an arts-based group intervention. Quantitative data was collected using the Body Image Self-Compassion Scale, and qualitative data was gathered through art-making, group discussion, and individual interviews. Participants were (n=5) menopausal women aged 46-52 from the Bay Area who reported negative body image related to menopause. The intervention consisted of four one-hour open studio workshops with a fifth meeting added in which participants created altered books while engaging in peer support and discussion. Dental ethics are assumed to be neutral in their intent. With a social contract grounded in liberalism and assumptions centering whiteness, the resulting ethics reinforce hierarchy, otherness, and inequities. Because concepts and practices are rarely neutral, dental ethics is embedded with biases, which results in it falling short of the demands of the 21st century and exacerbating health inequities rather than supporting efforts for health justice. This manuscript invites the reader to reflect critically and re-imagine dental ethics using anti-oppressive and interdisciplinary praxis.
