Concussions are traumatic brain injuries impacting upwards of 3 million athletes per year. Female collegiate athletes are an essential group of athletes to investigate as they account for 47% of all collegiate athletes and often suffer more severe concussions with worse concussion symptoms than their male counterparts. Many symptoms are associated with concussion such as dizziness nausea, headaches, and instability, however, some injury symptoms extend beyond physical symptoms. The symptoms that extend beyond physical often mimic different psychosocial factors like depression and anxiety. Aim: To identify demographic, socio-economic, and other factors associated with likelihood of obtaining extended-release injectable naltrexone (EIN) if provided in a private space at a local pharmacy among people who use opioids (PWUO) in rural Appalachian Kentucky.

Methods: People who used opioids in the past 6 months in rural Appalachian Kentucky (n=170) completed interviewer-administered questionnaires eliciting demographic, socio-economic, and other characteristics. Participants were also asked about whether they will be more likely to obtain EIN if provided in a private space at a local pharmacy. The COVID-19 pandemic provided unprecedented vaccine development and deployment. Educators were among the first non-healthcare occupations to become eligible for the vaccine, and were an early predictor of vaccine hesitancy especially among educated females. By the spring of 2021, 87% of teachers had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those who expressed hesitancy, no defining demographic factors were found. Those who expressed hesitancy commonly cited a rushed vaccine development process and fear of long term side effects as reasons against vaccination.

This study aims to test whether promoting a positive emotion intervention, 'Three Good Things' intervention, during the last trimester of pregnancy can enhance early colostrum secretion and breastfeeding behaviours by modulating the hormones associated with lactation (prolactin and insulin-like growth factor I). Background: Breastfeeding is proposed to play a role in reducing the risk of obesity throughout life. Kuwait has an extremely high prevalence of childhood obesity (45% of adolescents are overweight/obese) and extremely low breastfeeding indicators, particularly exclusive breastfeeding. In fact, little is known about the association between breastfeeding and obesity from Kuwait and the broader Middle East.

Introduction: The US Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) contains workplace measurements collected by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspectors. Its use for research is limited by the lack of record of a value for the limit of detection (LOD) associated with non-detected measurements, which should be used to set censoring point in statistical analysis. Abstract This quantitative retrospective study with a correlational design examined the impact of race and socioeconomic factors on the high infant mortality (IM) among non-Hispanic Black women compared to non-Hispanic White women in one midwestern US state county. Though the IM in the U.S. has consistently decreased, a disparity exists between non-Hispanic Black and non-Hispanic White women. Non-Hispanic Black women are twice as likely to experience infant deaths as non-Hispanic White women. A Threshold Linear Mixed Model (TLMM) has been developed to identify specific thresholds based on wastewater SARS-CoV-2 viral concentrations, which reflect COVID-19 cases. The thresholds can guide decisions regarding public health responses and prevention measures. To assess the practical application of TLMM, a simple simulation was conducted using a sample size of 100 and 500 replications. The simulation allowed for comparing parameter estimators by assessing bias and standard deviation and the root of the mean square error. Livestock cattle have been widely linked to schistosomiasis epidemiology, but little is known about its contribution to schistosomiasis transmission in Nigeria. The aim of this study is to examine the association between prevalence of schistosomiasis and livestock cattle index in Nigeria. Suicide continues to be a public health concern, with suicide rates increasing. Human service professionals are among the helping professions tasked with assessing and addressing suicidality. Despite the well-documented benefits of suicide assessment and training for those within the helping professions, there remains a dearth of literature specific to suicide prevention in the preparation of human services students. To address this gap, the current study used the SIRI-2 to assess the preparedness of human services students (n = 98) to assess and address client suicidality. The association between current smoking and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) progression remains uncertain. We aim to provide up-to-date evidence of the role of cigarette smoking in COVID-19 hospitalisation, severity and mortality. On 23 February 2022 we conducted an umbrella review and a traditional systematic review via PubMed/Medline and Web of Science. We used random-effects meta-analyses to derive pooled odds ratios of COVID-19 outcomes for smokers in cohorts of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infected individuals or COVID-19 patients.
