Osimertinib, an epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), potently and selectively inhibits EGFR-TKI-sensitizing and EGFR T790M resistance mutations. This analysis evaluates acquired resistance mechanisms to second-line osimertinib (n = 78) in patients with EGFR T790M advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) from AURA3 (NCT02151981), a randomized phase 3 study comparing osimertinib with chemotherapy. Plasma samples collected at baseline and disease progression/treatment discontinuation are analyzed using next-generation sequencing. Half (50%) of patients have undetectable plasma EGFR T790M at disease progression and/or treatment discontinuation. Among college students, evidence of relatively lower levels of concern of COVID-19 infection, rapid rates of transmission, and lagging vaccination rates substantiates a need to combat college student COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. This two-phase study comprised formative research, development, and pilot testing of a campaign to combat COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among college students. In phase one, focus group discussions with college students (N = 48) uncovered their specific attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control toward the COVID-19 vaccine. Purpose More time spent on near tasks has consistently been associated with the promotion of myopia. The World Health Organization advises limiting daily screentime to less than 2 h for children aged five and over. This study explored the relationship between time spent on screens and reading/writing with refractive status, ocular biometric and anthropometric factors in 6-to 7-year- olds in Ireland.

Methods Participants were 723 schoolchildren (377 boys [51.8%]), mean age 7.08 (0.45) years. The optimal time to initiate adjuvant therapy (AT) in elderly patients with glioblastoma (GBM) remains unclear. We investigated the impact of timing to start AT on overall survival (OS) using two national-scale datasets covering elderly GBM populations in the United States. A total of 3159 and 8161 eligible elderly GBM patients were derived from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER)-Medicare linked dataset (2004-2013) and the National Cancer Database (NCDB) (2004-2014), respectively. Social-emotional learning (SEL) programs aim to enhance emotional intelligence by teaching problem solving, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship building skills. SEL interventions have been shown to improve quality of life and wellbeing, increasingly important outcomes in the wake of the staggering effects of the COVID-19 crisis on mental health. HappiGenius is a novel SEL program with the addition of mindful attention and self-compassion. Keterpaparan informasi narkoba merupakan faktor penting dalam pengetahuan dan perubahan perilaku, terutama untuk melakukan rehabilitasi. Rumah kos merupakan populasi yang dianggap rawan terhadap penyalahgunaan narkoba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan keterpaparan informasi narkoba dengan perilaku pencarian rehabilitasi pada pengguna narkoba di rumah kos. Analisis regresi logistik ganda digunakan untuk menilai hubungan yang signifikan pada α=0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyalahguna narkoba di rumah kos yang memiliki keterpaparan informasi yang baik memiliki kecenderungan untuk 3,8 kali lebih besar untuk berperilaku mencari rehabilitasi dibandingkan dengan mereka yang keterpaparan informasinya kurang (ORa=3,8; 95% CI=0,7 – 21,5), setelah dikontrol oleh …

Angka prevalensi stunting Provinsi Jawa Barat tahun 2021 sebesar 24,5% dan menjadi salah satu provinsi dengan kategori stunting kronis-akut di Indonesia. Analisis spasial digunakan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat korelasi secara spasial antar wilayah kabupaten/kota di Jawa Barat berdasarkan prevalensi stunting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya autokorelasi spasial positif dan terdapat korelasi secara spasial yang artinya prevalensi stunting di satu wilayah kabupaten/kota berkaitan dengan wilayah disekitarnya. Wilayah yang menjadi hotspot stunting di Jawa Barat tahun 2021 berdasarkan pola kluster yang terbentuk adalah Kabupaten Bandung, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dan Kota Bandung. Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a rare autoimmune bile duct disease that is strongly associated with immune-mediated disorders. In this study, we implemented multitrait joint analyses to genome-wide association summary statistics of PSC and numerous clinical and epidemiological traits to estimate the genetic contribution of each trait and genetic correlations between traits and to identify new lead PSC risk-associated loci. We identified seven new loci that have not been previously reported and one new independent lead variant in the previously reported locus. Research demonstrates that people with disabilities are at greater risk for cervical and breast cancer than people without disabilities. People with disabilities are also less likely to be screened for these cancers compared to people without disabilities. Individuals with disabilities have the right to receive cancer screenings in a timely manner and have the right to reasonable accommodations as outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Thailand is one of many countries experiencing changes in the demographics of its population. People are living longer and having fewer children resulting in an increasing percentage of older adults in the general population. This presents a challenge in providing care for older adults, especially in countries where there is a culture of family caregiving. Purpose: Modern multimodal analgesia has been shown to significantly reduce opioid use following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This study was conducted to determine if changing TKA discharge opioid prescriptions from automatic to upon request resulted in more opioid free recoveries without compromising pain control. Methods: Between December 2019 and August 2021, an orthopedic surgeon performed 144 primary unilateral TKAs; patients received the same multimodal analgesia protocol except for postoperative opioid prescribing. The first consecutively-treated cohort automatically received an opioid prescription following discharge (automatic group) and the second cohort received opioid prescriptions only upon request (upon request group). Hypothesis/Purpose: In this report we present a case of a 20-year-old female with congenital intellectual disability, stunted growth, and hypothyroidism. Competitive genetic hybridization (CHG) revealed a loss of 17p13.3, and the deletion was not present in either parent. This deletion has not previously been characterized, but mutations on the p-arm of chromosome 17 are responsible for Miller-Dieker Syndrome and Isolated Lissencephaly Sequence, both of which share symptoms in common with the patient.

Methods: Peripheral mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were used for karyotyping and competitive genetic hybridization (CHG). Bioinformatic analysis was carried out using the Genome Data Viewer (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genome/gdv).

Background: This study examines whether symptoms of depression, anxiety, or comorbid depression and anxiety are associated with future use of nicotine or THC in e-cigarettes.

Methods: Data were from an online survey of youth and young adults in urban areas of Texas with complete data (n = 2,307) in spring 2019 (baseline) and spring 2020 (12-month follow-up). Objectives This study aims to assess whether the characteristics, management and outcomes of women varied between Syrian and Palestinian refugees, migrant women of other nationalities and Lebanese women giving birth at a public tertiary centre in Beirut, Lebanon.

Methods This was a secondary data analysis of routinely collected data from the public Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) between January 2011 and July 2018. Asprosin, a recently identified adipokine, activates agouti-related peptide (AgRP) neurons in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus (ARH) via binding to protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor δ (Ptprd) to increase food intake. However, the intracellular mechanisms responsible for asprosin/Ptprd-mediated activation of AgRPARH neurons remain unknown. Here, we demonstrate that the small-conductance calcium-activated potassium (SK) channel is required for the stimulatory effects of asprosin/Ptprd on AgRPARH neurons. Specifically, we found that deficiency or elevation of circulating asprosin increased or decreased the SK current in AgRPARH neurons, respectively.
