After the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Singapore Government responded with a quick and comprehensive package of legal, economic and financial measures that sought to put the economy into hibernation and avoid the destruction of jobs and viable businesses, at least while companies were unable to generate revenues and cash-flows due to a variety of factors, including travel restrictions and lockdowns imposed in many countries around the world. This investigation aimed to describe the construction of the social movement for health demands in the frame of the social outbreak in Chile in October 2019. In addition to identifying the main health demands of this movement, it also had a focus on understanding the role of social organizations in the construction of the movement and placing it within the broader socio-political movement that arises from the social outbreak. In 2013, the Moroccan government took significant steps to adapt the healthcare system in better integrating migrants in its policies. BACKGROUND: Every year tuberculosis (TB) causes over 10 millions of people globally and in recent years has caused over 9,000 cases annually in the United States. TB can be transmitted in hospital settings, and South Carolina hospitals, like hospitals elsewhere in the country maintain a responsibility to test their employees for this disease. Nosocomial infections of active TB among patients and healthcare workers can be burdensome on hospital resources. In an effort to deduce the current perspective of health professionals and health associations on electronic cigarettes, this project reviews position statements and policy guidelines, as well as studies regarding physician practices and knowledge, and primary data collected from focus groups. This data is analyzed in regard to beliefs on the risks and benefits of using electronic cigarettes as harm reduction or cessation tools. The multi-pronged approach attempts to clearly demonstrate the atmosphere of the healthcare community regarding electronic cigarettes.

The present work tries to understand if the health communication programs in Chile are sufficient and, specifically, if the Chilean state guarantees the right to information of indigenous peoples in the context of COVID-19 in the Arica and Parinacota region. For this, semi-structured interviews were carried out and analyzed using the Atlas.ti software. The results showed that the indigenous peoples of Arica and Parinacota need intercultural programs that recognize their rights and cultures, and more access to information.

My research paper investigates the responses of the U.S. immigration detention system to the COVID 19 pandemic and determines the capacity of the detention centers to keep detained individuals alive and healthy. This paper explores the social dimensions of reproductive health in Morocco through a look at its health indicators and social determinants. Existing literature discusses reproductive health differences that run on economic, social, and cultural lines. In this paper, I shed light on how best to measure and understand these disparities. The research shows that reproductive health in Morocco is most accurately indicated by maternal mortality rates (MMR), access to prenatal and postnatal visits, and access to adequate family planning. It also finds that location of residence, economic status, and women’s status are key social determinants of reproductive health in Morocco. …

Research has examined the relationship between neighborhood environments and cognitive decline, yet few have investigated the role of neighborhood characteristics specifically on incident Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), on severity of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) including neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS), and on caregiver mental health including depressive symptoms. Both high-income and low-income countries extensively use financial strategy to tackle the disparity distribution of healthcare workers. However, most studies were conducted in developed countries and assessed positive incentives programs. Previous studies showed the effectiveness of financial incentives on recruitment and retention of healthcare workers. Inflammatory-related chronic diseases are disparagingly prevalent among African Americans in the United States, particularly in the Southeastern region. Access to community gardens shows promise in mitigating chronic disease outcomes, despite multiple barriers to physical activity and diet among underserved populations. We seek to determine if psychosocial or clinical factors mediate the association between the treatment effect of a healthy lifestyle intervention and inflammatory biomarker levels among African American women, respectively. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among men in the United States. Despite improvements in screening, diagnostic methods, and treatment, African-American men have an increased risk of total and aggressive prostate cancer. In recent years, a growing body of evidence linking biomarkers of calcium and parathyroid hormone (PTH) to prostate cancer development has emerged. Circulating calcium, phosphorus, and PTH are homeostatically related. Prior studies linking prostate cancer and circulating calcium and PTH have produced inconclusive results, and no studies have examined the association between serum phosphorus and prostate cancer. Using cross-sectional data from the 2009-2010 and 2013-2014 NHANES surveys we examined potential interaction between caffeine consumption, alcohol use, and sleep and its relation to bone health, measured using bone mineral density (BMD). The study population consisted of 2,405 individuals at least 40 years old who were not taking any medications or hormones that would affect bone mineral density. Several factors such as smoking status, exercise, dietary intake of calcium, dietary intake of vitamin D, dietary intake of phosphorus, presence of arthritis, age, gender and race were considered in this project. The American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) introduced Magnet Recognition (MR) in the U.S.A in 1994. Magnet Recognition was adopted based on the findings of a comprehensive study (conducted in 1983) that tried to identify factors explaining high rates of nurses’ retention in 41 hospitals in the U.S.A.

The objective is to compare MHs with the hospitals not recognized as “Magnet” (non-MHs) in terms of important outcomes of the health system and to examine whether the MHs themselves vary significantly in terms of the outcomes.
