Kontaminasi Air Dan Infeksi Amuba Asimptomatik Pada Anak Usia Sekolah Di Kampung Melayu Jakarta Timur, Hera Agustina

Di kelurahan Kampung Melayu, penyakit infeksi amuba menempati urutan 9 dari 10 besar penyakit di wilayah tersebut. Diduga di sana banyak terdapat kasus infeksi amuba asimptomatik yang dapat menular ke orang lain akibat kondisi sanitasi lingkungan dan higiene yang buruk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai hubungan antara kontaminasi air oleh E.histolytica dengan kejadian infeksi amuba asimptomatik pada anak usia sekolah. Penelitian dengan desain penelitian case control ini dilakukan terhadap 46 kasus dan 46 kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui pemeriksaan laboratorium, wawancara dan observasi. Malaria Pasca Tsunami Di Pulau Weh, Lambok Siahaan, Titik Yuniarti

Bencana tsunami melanda Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam pada tanggal 26 Desember 2004, selain meningkatkan kejadian luar biasa (KLB) malaria juga memunculkan daerah-daerah endemis malaria. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan prevalensi penderita malaria di Pulau Weh, pasca Tsunami pada akhir 2004. Penelitian dilakukan secara ‘cross sectional’. Diagnostik malaria ditegakkan berdasarkan pemeriksaan apusan darah (mikroskopik). Ditemukan penurunan kasus malaria di Pulau Weh. Prevalensi penderita malaria yang diperoleh adalah 15,3%. Dari semua penderita malaria, 41,4% tanpa gejala klinis demam. Penderita yang tidak mengalami gejala klinis demam tersebut, umumnya mempunyai gejala klinis badan pegal, pusing, gangguan pencernaan dan lemas. Penurunan prevalensi malaria dalam penelitian ini …

Pengaruh bahaya bising dan kimia terhadap timbulnya gangguan pendengaran diketahui dengan baik, tetapi pengaruh penyakit kronis hipertensi terhadap timbulnya gangguan pendengaran sensorineural belum banyak timbulnya gangguan pendengaran sensorineural. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Perusahaan minyak A di Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia. Subyek penelitian adalah pekerja terpajan bahaya bising dan kimia. Desain studi yang digunakan adalah Kasus Kontrol. Kasus adalah penderita gangguan pendengaran yang dilihat pada data medical check up tahun 2003. Hasil pengukuran dosimetri kebisingan rata-rata 87,12 dBA (150,98 %) yang merupakan TWA 12 jam. Kholinesterase darah merupakan salah satu indikator keracunan pestisida yang masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat, khususnya diwilayah pertanian. Pada tahun 2005, di Kabupaten Majalengka, hasil pemeriksaan mendapatkan angka keracunan ringan (21,7%) keracunan sedang (32,5%) dan keracunan berat (3,6%) Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji berbagai faktor determinan aktivitas kholinesterase darah pada petani penyemprot hama tanaman holtikultura. Penelitian yang menggunakan desain potong lintang dengan sumber data sekunder hasil pemeriksaan aktivitas kholinesterase darah yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Majalengka tahun 2007. Pencapaian kegiatan Usaha Kegiatan Sekolah dari Standar Pelayanan Minimal di Kabupaten Purwakarta, tahun 2005 masih jauh dibawah target standar pelayanan minimal secara nasional. Cakupan tersebut meliputi deteksi dini tumbuh kembang anak balita dan prasekolah (74,57%), pemeriksaan kesehatan siswa oleh tenaga terlatih (61,82%) pelayanan kesehatan remaja (51,17%). BACKGROUND: Decisions regarding whether to administer intensive care to extremely premature infants are often based on gestational age alone. However, other factors also affect the prognosis for these patients.

A large literature in medicine documents variation across areas in the use of surgical treatments that is unrelated to outcomes. Observers of this phenomena have invoked “flat of the curve medicine” to explain these facts, and have advocated for reductions in spending in high-use areas. In contrast, we develop a simple Roy model of patient treatment choice with productivity spillovers that can generate the empirical facts. Our model predicts that high-use areas will have higher returns to surgery, better outcomes among patients most appropriate for surgery, and worse outcomes among patients least appropriate for surgery, while displaying no relationship between …

For decades, the federal government has targeted health care funding, resources and staff to meet the health care needs of areas designated as "medically underserved areas" and "health professional shortage areas." Areas that qualify may, for example, receive federal funding to support the establishment and operation of community health centers, or receive National Health Service Corps (NHSC) physicians and clinicians. In addition, physicians who practice in these health shortage areas may receive higher payments under Medicare. Numerous safety net programs and health care providers depend on Medically Underserved Area and Population (MUA/P) and Health Professional Shortage (HPSA) designations to qualify for federal funding, physician subsidies and placement, and health-related investments to improve access to care for communities and populations at high risk of poor health. These resources are particularly critical for federally-qualified health centers at a time when the number of uninsured is growing and the capacity of the safety net shrinking. In 1965, Congress enacted the Older Americans Act, establishing a federal agency and state agencies to address the social services needs of the aging population. The mission of the Older Americans Act is broad: to help older people maintain maximum independence in their homes and communities and to promote a continuum of care for the vulnerable elderly. In successive amendments, the Act created area agencies on aging and a host of service programs.
