A256: A Strategic Study On Outdoor Sports Education In Kindergarten, Meng Zhao
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
As an important part of early childhood education, outdoor sports play a crucial role in children's physical development, social adaptability, and creative thinking. By incorporating game elements into outdoor sports activities in kindergartens and understanding the genuine needs of children, we can design appropriate and engaging outdoor activities that not only promote the overall development but also enhance the quality of outdoor sports education in kindergartens. This study, based on the example of S Kindergarten in Nanjing, explores effective strategies for outdoor sports education in kindergartens under the context of curriculum gamification. The goal is to provide practical references for …

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Lower back injuries, which affect sports performance and activities of daily life, are high frequency injury site experienced by table tennis players. However, studies on physical fitness among youth table tennis players are scarce. This study aimed to identify the differences in shoulder function characteristics between elite youth table tennis players with a history of lower back injuries and those without. Method: Shoulder function evaluation tests were performed among thirty-six elite youth table tennis players aged 1420 years using electronic medical check-ups (kinvent v3 sensor). The tests included shoulder flexion, extension, abduction, internal rotation (IR), and external rotation (ER). According …

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
The shot put is a technically demanding track and field event requiring strength and coordination. This study introduces a novel technique combining the glide-step with rotational delivery, aiming to enhance throwing performance. While traditional glide and rotation techniques have been well-studied, the kinematic characteristics of this hybrid approach remain unexplored. This preliminary study analyzed the kinematic features of elite athletes using this technique via 2D video analysis. Three national-level shot put athletes were recruited. Each performed three throws using a standard shot in a regulated throwing circle, with the best attempt selected for analysis. 2D video analysis was conducted using …

A261: Association Between Motor Coordination Skills And Emotional-Behavioral Problems In 3–6-Year-Old Children, Shuo Yan, Yanjie Chen, Yu Song, Hongjuan Li
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
The development of motor coordination between the ages of 3 and 6 is a critical time for children. Good motor coordination not only serves as the foundation for children's daily activities but also promotes the maturation of neural development, thereby facilitating the growth of their language, intelligence, and emotional abilities. Developmental coordination disorder (DCD) is a disease characterized by significantly impaired motor coordination. Children at risk for DCD (rDCD) often have emotional and behavioral problems that can negatively affect long-term outcomes. The purpose of this study was to compare the differences in emotional-behavioral problems between children with rDCD and typically …

A263: Exploring Cadd-Based Binding Modes Of Androstenedione And Its Metabolites With Potential In Vivo Targets, Yuhong Ding, Wei Dong
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
The abuse of androstenedione, an endogenous steroid hormone, among athletes to enhance performance is a significant concern in sports. Current anti-doping detection methods are limited by short detection windows and high false-positive rates, largely due to the transient nature of primary metabolites. To address these challenges, this study employs computer-aided drug design (CADD) to identify stable, long-acting metabolites of androstenedione that can extend the detection window and improve anti-doping efficacy. The integration of CADD with sports physiology principles allows for a more comprehensive understanding of how exercise-induced metabolic fluctuations can influence the detection of these metabolites. Method: Molecular docking simulations …

A264: Factors Influencing Sports Major Students’ Intention To Use Generative Ai In Course Learning, Hongchang Yang, Xiaoxia Zhang
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) has the potential to enhance both the efficiency and outcomes of course learning for sports major students. However, no existing research has specifically examined the factors that may influence these students' use of GAI in their course learning. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) proposes that attitude (AT), subjective norms (SN), and perceived behavioral control (PBC) are key determinants of behavioral intention. Additionally, perceived ease of use (PEU) and expectation confirmation have been identified as factors that may be associated with intention. Therefore, this study aimed to test an extended TPB model to explore sports major …

A253: Examining Health Variations Between Resistance Training With/Without Breathing Retraining In Overweight Young Women, Huan Cai, Chengye Dai
A253: Examining Health Variations Between Resistance Training With/Without Breathing Retraining In Overweight Young Women, Huan Cai, Chengye Dai
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Physical inactivity and overweight are public health concerns among young Chinese women. A decrease in respiratory strength and endurance has been reported in obese/overweight individuals, as the increased fat accumulation in the chest wall and trunk leads to weakness of the respiratory muscle and changes in breathing patterns, resulting in decreased lung ventilation, the capacity for oxygen delivery, and utilization. Studies showed that RT can increase cardiopulmonary function as shown by improvement of submaximal exercise and increased peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak), resulting enhancement of muscle hypertrophy. Breathing retraining (BR) can also manipulate breathing patterns. Therefore, the purpose of this study …

A280: Physical Activity, Social Support, And Stress Among High School Students, Moderating Effects Of Only-Child Status, Yining Hu
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Stress levels reflect an individual's psycho-physiological imbalance in response to environmental demands. Research suggests that physical activity not only directly alleviates negative emotions but may also indirectly reduce stress levels by enhancing social support networks. However, the underlying mechanisms of this pathway and the moderating effects of family structure differences (e.g., only-child status) are unclear. This study aimed to explore the relationship between physical activity and stress levels among high school students in Shandong Province, test the mediating role of social support between the two, and analyze the moderating effect of only-child status on the relationship. Method: The present study …

A285: Effects Of Aerobic Exercise On Young Women With Binge Eating Disorder: A Randomized Controlled Trial, Shihui Cao, Ruyun Wang, Shanshan Mao
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Binge eating disorder (BED) is one of the most common eating disorders. It is more common in young women than in other groups and can lead to adverse physical and psychological problems. Previous studies have revealed that aerobic exercise is effective in reducing overeating, but it is not clear which exercise intensity works best. This study, therefore, compared the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on body composition and mental state of young women with BED. 30 BED young women (Mage = 20.07 years, SD = 0.20) who didn't regularly participate in physical activity were …
