Early-life nutrition is a critical predictor of long-term health, yet the association between rapid early-childhood growth and adolescent obesity, particularly in relation to the “double burden of malnutrition,” remains under-researched in Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the association between rapid growth and adolescent obesity. Data were obtained from the 1997, 2000, and 2014 waves of the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS). This study included 641 children (aged 0–23 months at baseline) with complete anthropometric measurements across all three waves. Contemporary guidelines recommend aggressive low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) lowering in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), yet significant treatment gaps persist in clinical practice. We evaluated lipid-lowering therapy (LLT) use, LDL-C control, and prevelance of cardiovascular risk factors among patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), peripheral artery disease (PAD), cerebral atherosclerosis (CAS) and those with all three (polyvascular disease) using real-world data from the NIH-run All of Us Research Program.Methods

Introduction: Obesity is a growing concern among transgender individuals, influenced by gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) and social determinants of health. Bariatric surgery is effective, but metabolic outcomes and access to care remain understudied. Methods: A literature review was conducted using PubMed, Embase, and StatPearls databases (2020–2025). Obesity is a major public health concern in the United States that is projected to increase exponentially over the next few years. Obesity is commonly associated with a lower socioeconomic status. Lower-income individuals tend to be supported by Medicaid, a federal insurance program for low-income Americans. Background: Obesity may have a protective effect (greater survival) in older adults, a finding known as the "obesity paradox." This study examined the association between self-reported body mass index (BMI) and active life expectancy (ALE) among older U.S. adults.
Methods: Using the Medicare Health Outcomes Survey Cohort 15 (2012 baseline, 2014 follow-up), we estimated life expectancy and ALE by participants' baseline BMI and age using multi-state models. A participant was classified as in an active state if this person reported having no difficulty for any of these six activities of daily living (ADLs).
