Spiritual care is an essential component of holistic end-of-life nursing, yet it is inconsistently provided in home hospice settings. For this Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) quality improvement project, we developed and implemented the Compassionate Spiritual Comfort Integration Program (CSCI), a brief, theory-based educational intervention to strengthen hospice nurses' spiritual care practices. Grounded in Kolcaba's Comfort Theory and Jinpa's Compassion Framework, the CSCI was delivered as a prerecorded webinar. A quasi-experimental single–group pretest–posttest design was used to evaluate changes in spiritual care behaviors, measured with the 17-item Nurse Spiritual Care Therapeutics Scale (NSCTS) and a single-item confidence measure. Falls in older adults are common and often have severe outcomes. They are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries among people aged 65 and older and continue to increase. Half of residents in nursing facilities fall annually, and one in every ten falls will lead to a severe injury. Federal regulations like the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services require long-term care (LTC) facilities to incorporate quality assurance performance improvement initiatives to address identified quality concerns in LTC facilities. Background: Neonatal palliative care is crucial to providing comprehensive, high-quality care to neonates with life-limiting or life-threatening health conditions and their families. One significant barrier to the inconsistent provision of neonatal palliative care is the lack of education. This project aimed to deliver an education training program to increase neonatal palliative care knowledge and self-efficacy in NICU nurses. For patients with advanced heart failure (HF) ineligible for or awaiting heart transplantation, left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation can be considered. LVADs have helped to improve recipients’ survival rates and quality of life. However, LVAD patients are at risk for complications such as stroke, bleeding, infection, and right ventricular failure. Moreover, events such as end-stage malignancy or progression of a neurodegenerative disorder may occur. Such complications and repeated hospitalizations can pose questions about the acceptability of LVAD therapy. Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) patients are constantly challenged by the different levels on which lack of cultural competency or bias occurs in healthcare. This literature review focuses on the healthcare providers’ experiences when providing pain and palliative care to CALD populations and explores the challenges that may result in health inequalities. A review of current literature was conducted using PubMed, CINHAL, Sage Journals, Ovid, and Science Direct electronic databases. Sixteen published articles between 2015-2023 were reviewed. Findings from this review identified factors that induce poor quality palliative, pain, and end-of-life (EOL) care among culturally diverse groups. Improving quality of …
