Preventable chronic diseases are plaguing our veterans. Health literacy is an important component of prevention and chronic disease self-management. People need health literacy skills to read and understand information. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) calls the Veterans Health Education and Information (VHEI) Committee for a review process to improve the understandability, actionability, and readability of VHEI resources.

Objective:To examine the potential sustained effects of WeROCK, a structured middle school-based marathon training program, on participants’ reported levels of wellness promotion, physical activity, and self-efficacy as they enter early adulthood. Design and Methods: A retrospective descriptive mixed methods design. Sample included emerging adults (N=57) who were past middle school participants in WeROCK Orange County, CA. Data were collected via online questionnaires. Background: Many women who suffer from substance use disorder syndrome (SUDS) have low self-esteem and can be labeled as “unfit parents” which can impede infant bonding and maternal sobriety. Parent and self-efficacy are associated with improved maternal-infant attachment and sobriety (Adams, et.al. 2021). The earlier prenatal education is implemented, the more empowered the mothers will feel to be able to help their infants and themselves.

This study examined the relationships between self-efficacy, participation in prison programs, and perceived ability to live crime free among male prisoners in state-operated New Mexico prisons. Among the 589 study participants, those who reported having received assistance in changing criminal attitudes agreed they would be able to live crime free at a rate 8% higher than those who did not (p = .029). Those who agreed that they are able to accomplish any task (p = .001) or who disagreed with feeling helpless to deal with problems (p = .001) also scored significantly higher in perceived ability …

American Association of Pediatrics recommends screening for various developmental delays in children, but it does not explicitly recommend a tool for screening social and emotional development at well-child checks (WCCs). Therefore, provider self-efficacy (SE) is lacking, and screening rarely occurs. This Quality Improvement project conducted at a 245-bed acute care hospital in the southeastern United States, aimed to develop an evidence-based preceptor program to improve retention rates. Specific goals were to create a positive experience for preceptors and preceptees by improving the training, support, and recognition. Secondary goal was to increase the number of trained preceptors. The training focused on safe practice, employee satisfaction, and self-efficacy. Retention data supplied by HR for 2020 showed increasing trend of nursing turnover with a 33% total nursing turnover, and 50.25% turnover rate for nurses with less than three years of experience. Objective: This exploratory study examined perceived self-efficacy in information literacy skills in nursing students and discusses how collaborative relationships between nursing faculty and librarians can strengthen curricular efforts to support information literacy.

Methods: Using the Information Competency Assessment Instrument, a survey research design was used to determine student perceptions of their information literacy skills. Participants included nursing Baccalaureate, Master's and Doctoral students in each of these programs.
