Abstract

Problem: Over the past year, the department failed to meet SSI Bundle Metrics scores consistently due to process identification failures and documentation lapses.

Context: The post-op warming temperature documentation and practices project focused on addressing critical quality issues related to documentation and education gaps in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) microsystem. This project took place in a 249-bed hospital in Northern California, which includes 15 post-surgical bays. The PACU primarily serves patients needing acute care post-surgery, with surgical cases handled, including general surgery, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic and spine surgery, vascular surgery, and urology.

AIM: To explore enablers and barriers to the creation of an oral health training for care workers at specialized centres for children with disabilities in Ouagadougou.

DESIGN: This was a formative study informed by the Theoretical Domains Framework using qualitative methods.

METHODS: Qualitative observations and 14 semi-structured interviews were conducted with care workers from six specialized centres for disability.

Background: Falls are the most commonly reported safety incidence in the hospital setting (Morris R. et al., 2017). Because falls may be a result of many factors, evidence shows that multicomponent fall interventions best reduce fall rates (Bargmann et al., 2020; Dykes et al., 2010; Dykes et al., 2020; Strini et al., 2021). Background: Heart failure has an estimated global prevalence of 64.3 million cases, with an average age of a person living with heart failure at 75.2 years. Approximately 20% of residents living in nursing homes (a long-term residential care environment for some individuals) report living with heart failure. This study aims to evaluate the effect of education on the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This is a population-based cross-sectional study using the 2019 nationwide survey data in Korea. There were 3951 study subjects, after excluding participants with missing data for key exposures and outcome variables.
