The detrimental effects of immobility are well documented in the literature, yet immobility still plagues the hospitalized adult. As the influx of COVID-19 patients began, patient mobility was further compromised. The purpose of this quality improvement project was to assess the impact of COVID mobility teams, composed of deployed coworkers, on COVID-19–positive and person under investigation patient outcomes. Using mobility teams improved mobility in COVID-positive and person under investigation patients. Increasing patient mobility results in improved patient outcomes by preventing hospital-acquired functional decline, preventing intensive care unit transfers, and decreasing length of stay.

Introduction: This article presents Part 2 of the biannual JWellness Review of literature from 2021 (July – December). We emphasize new science and resilience initiatives published outside of JWellness that seek understanding of burnout and thriving among healthcare professionals (HCPs).

Methods: For the interval of July 1 to December 30, 2021, PubMed was queried for empirical and observational research studies, review articles, guideline summaries, letters, and editorials. Of 93 results, we reviewed methods and salient points to arrive at a final list of 48 articles for inclusion.

Background: Public health strategies to improve COVID-19 vaccine uptake among college students living in residential communities varied, some universities opted to mandate COVID-19 vaccines while other universities opted to promote and influence the choice for vaccination.

Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) is a frightening global disease, especially because of its high contagiousness. This study aimed to identify the future anxiety regarding immunity status in nursing students who work in hospitals, especially those caring for patients with COVID-19. This study design was cross-sectional with standard translated instruments of the Future Anxiety Scale and Immune Status Questionnaire administered using a Google Form to 102 respondents. Despite having previous experience and extensive trauma training, the COVID-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges for nurses working in hospital settings. During the pandemic, nurses struggle to care for patients and protect themselves from infection, while navigating ongoing organizational changes. Guided by prior literature on social support and coping, this study explores nurses’ experiences of coping with stress while treating COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. Background: Response to the COVID-19 pandemic has required innovative approaches to vaccination, including methods to rapidly and safely immunize communities. A major challenge to such a response involved access to untapped healthcare worker resources. The Louisville, Kentucky, response involved the use of a large volunteer workforce to supplement local public health employees in planning and implementing a large-scale drive-through vaccination event. The objective of this manuscript was to outline processes involved in training a mass immunization workforce and implementating a large-scale COVID-19 community vaccination.

BACKGROUND: During a time of high stress and decreased social interaction, nurses have turned to social media platforms like TikTok as an outlet for expression, entertainment, and communication. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this cross-sectional content analysis study is to describe the content of videos with the hashtag #covidnurse on TikTok, which included 100 videos in the English language. METHODS: At the time of the study, this hashtag had 116.9 million views. Each video was coded for content-related to what nurses encountered and were feeling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
