The purpose of this article is to share gaps in knowledge and research related to pandemic management identified by nurse leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of a larger Delphi study, nurse leaders responded to an open-ended question about gaps in research they saw as important following the pandemic. Responses were analyzed using directed content analysis. Results are presented as 4 supercategories: Organizational leadership preparedness, adaptive leadership in crisis, innovations in care delivery, and health, well-being, and resilience.

The purpose of this study was to explore the perception of social support among Mexican immigrant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) within the context of their culture and discern the process through which social support can influence their adherence to the GDM management protocols. The incidence of GDM is highest in low-income, ethnic minority communities such as the Mexican immigrant community. Purpose/Background Central venous catheters (CVC) are typical for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Due to the invasiveness of this procedure, there is a high risk for central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI). These infections have been known to increase mortality and morbidity, medical costs, and reduce hospital reimbursements. Evidenced-based interventions were grouped to assemble a central line bundle to decrease the number of CLABSIs and improve patient outcomes. The quality of life (QOL) of post-stroke patients can be assessed from the reports of patients themselves obtained through a structured interview or a questionnaire. However, some individuals are unable to comprehensively describe their QOL because of language disorders, cognitive effects caused by stroke, or pre-existing conditions. This study aims to identify differences in post-stroke QOL perception between patients and caregivers. A cross-sectional design involving 115 stroke patients and 115 caregivers was adopted, and Mann–Whitney test was used for statistical analysis. Results showed no significant difference in QOL perception (p = 0.166; α < 0.05), particularly in the physical (p = 0.278; α < 0.05), psychological (p = 0.068; α < 0.05), social relationship (p = 0.976; α < 0.05), and environmental (p = 0.157; α < 0.05) domains between patients and caregivers. Therefore, information from caregivers can be used to assess QOL when patients are incapable of reporting their condition.

Understanding young inmates’ experiences are essential since their lives have been shaped by the impact of social exclusion. This study aimed to explore the meaning of the lived experiences of young adults inside the prison system. The phenomenological inquiry was utilized, which is grounded in Martin Heidegger’s philosophy. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 to 29-year-old inmates incarcerated for at least one year. This benchmark study attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of cardiac rehabilitation in reducing mortality and hospital readmission rates of post-myocardial infarction patients. Several peer-reviewed articles were reviewed assessing the efficacy of cardiac rehabilitation. It was discovered that cardiac rehabilitation reduced several negative effects regarding heart disease, including the reduction of mortality and hospital readmission rates.
