New graduate nurses often feel unprepared for professional practice. Nurse Residency Programs were developed in order to prepare graduate nurses for professional practice within the hospital. Nurse residency programs prepare new graduate nursing students by enhancing their critical thinking skills and role satisfaction before transitioning to professional nursing practice. Establishment of nurse residency programs leads to more competent nurses and better patient care. These programs increase critical thinking skills, competence, and preparedness, which leads to higher retention rates. Background: Hospital administrators have noted a lack of clinical judgment in novice nurses, which can result in negative client outcomes. This paper describes the implementation of a multi-client simulation experience with the purpose of determining if the experience improved communication, prioritization, and clinical judgment.

Method: A descriptive, pretest postest study, using the National League for Nursing (NLN) Jeffries Simulation Theory, examined the perceived competence of 37 senior level Associate Degree Nursing students.

Due to high incidences of sleep disorders in the veteran population, this project sought to identify and validate a non-pharmacological intervention, aromatherapy, as a viable option for veterans with sleep problems. About one in five people in the U.S. provide caregiving to family, friends, or neighbors. The number and support needs of informal caregivers has been increasing since 2015. According to Healthy People 2030, Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) are conditions that affect a person’s well-being, health, and quality of life. SDoH include:

• Financial stability
• Education
• Access to healthcare
• Neighborhood and physical environment
• Community and social context

Populations from urban and low socioeconomic areas have been determined to be at high risk for negative health outcomes related to SDoH.

Nursing faculty are at risk of stress and burnout that could lead to negative personal and system-level repercussions. A recognition and appreciation program was implemented at one public, four-year university to determine if it would decrease stress and burnout experienced by nursing faculty. The program utilized no- and low- cost strategies, including virtual events and sharing of faculty activities and achievements. Stress and burnout were measured before and after implementation of the program using the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educator Survey (MBI), respectively. Background: CAUTIs are deemed never events by Centers for Medicaid and Medicare and are tied to financial reimbursements. CDC states 17-69% of CAUTIs are preventable with recommended infection control measures. UTIs are the most common type of Hospital-acquired infection, with an estimated of occurrence of 9.5% reported by acute care hospitals. Violence has been exacerbated by the pandemic, resulting in a plethora of research that can be complementary and contradictory. A preliminary thematic literature search was performed using keywords such as human trafficking, IPV, sexual assault, pandemic, covid, and child abuse. This resulted in over 100 articles between 2019 and 2021. The literature review revealed common themes such as pandemics and natural disasters increase the risk for violence in women, children, and marginalized populations.
