Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) and autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD) are two forms of polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and are leading causes of end stage renal disease (Silverman, 2015). PKD can affect both children and adults and is one of the most common hereditary disorders (Silverman, 2015). A mutation on the genes PKD-1 and PKD-2 and the encoding proteins polycystin-1 and polycystin-2 is the pathophysiology behind development of PKD (Silverman, 2015). A desire for the ideal body image has influenced the development of a nonsurgical body-shaping procedure known as cryolipolysis. The purpose of this clinical feature is to inform nurse practitioners about the risks and benefits of cryolipolysis so they can educate their patients. Cryolipolysis is a safe, effective method of reducing small areas of unwanted fat. Adverse effects are minimal and include pain, redness, bruising, and swelling. Results are seen within 12 weeks, but long-term effects are unknown. There are contraindications, and it is relatively expensive; however, it may be a safer option than invasive surgery.

Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT) is an evidence-based approach for providers to improve partner treatment and decrease reinfection rates in patients with certain STIs. Burnout has been recognized as a barrier to quality care and expected patient outcomes for nearly 50 years (Freudenberger, 1974). Burnout, an “occupational phenomenon”, a syndrome of untreated chronic work-place stress, (WHO, 2019). Burnout has three factors: emotional exhaustion described as depletion of energy, depersonalization characterized by, increased levels of detachment; finally, reduced feelings of personal accomplishment with reduced feelings of professional efficacy. Health care providers (HCPs), Mental Health Providers (MHPs) and staff providing care in substance use disorder programs, experience high levels of burnout. Purpose: The purpose of this project was to determine the effect of an educational intervention delivered to ICU nursing staff and providers on sepsis bundle compliance and mastery of the bundle metrics.

Methods: This study included a sepsis educational program that utilized a pre-and post-education survey to determine mastery of the sepsis bundle metrics. Retrospective data of the Sepsis 5-piece composite scores were collected and compared.

Results: 86 ICU nurses (71.6% of the nursing staff) participated in the educational intervention and the surveys. The mean survey score pre-intervention was 73.5%, and 100% post-intervention. Sepsis 5-piece composite score means increased from …
