Integrated continuous care is important to prevent and treat brittle bone status in the aging process; however, minority groups often have limited access to health services. The purpose of this study was to identify the care coordination among women’s perceptions about their bone health, information from health care providers, and the results of Bone Mineral Density (BMD) tests across three age groups. Policy development is an important activity for the practice of healthcare. Policies, after all, may cultivate common practices and ensure that best available evidence is employed in clinical decision making. Qualitative research and individuals with expertise in qualitative research methods have much to offer policy makers. We were confronted with the situation of developing policy for donation after circulatory death (DCD) for our newborn intensive care program. Undergraduate nursing students have reported feeling ill-prepared to handle the conflict that accompanies the routine exposure to microethical dilemmas. Microethical dilemmas, as first defined by Worthley (1997), are routine questionable practices that have the potential to compromise quality patient care, negatively impact workplace culture, and initiate moral distress. Nurse educators employ a variety of strategies to support students’ ability to effectively manage conflict; however, little is known about how students authentically respond to ethical dilemmas. In this scholarly project, the project leader implemented a chart audit and provider feedback intervention with the aim of improving provider referrals for patients who screened positive for depression—a risk factor in the myocardial infarction (MI) population—with the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). The clinical question was developed in order to examine whether the depression-screening tool that was implemented improved provider referrals to the in-house licensed counselor or primary care physician after an educational feedback intervention, focusing on physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). Background: There are currently no guidelines for screening for thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) during pregnancy. Currently, there is some debate as to whether pregnant women should be screened for TPOAb, universally, or using a risk-based approach.
