Skin cancer is becoming more prevalent in African Americans. African Americans' mortality rate is significantly higher than any other race due to lack of awareness. The purpose of this qualitative study, guided by Rosenstock's health belief model, was to gain an understanding of African Americans' beliefs and perceptions regarding skin cancer. Ten telephone interviews were conducted with African Americans who were 18 years old or older, no history of cancer, and who were members of a church in a rural town in the southeastern United States. Stroke has affected more than 7 million people and up to 33% of those patients reporting depression. The lack of screening for depression for patients post stroke can delay treatment for depression and hinder or lengthen recovery. First-year nursing students (FYNS) experience anxiety that can decrease academic achievement and result in attrition from the nursing program (NP). Research has not evaluated the impact of faculty mentoring (FM) offered by the NP on FYNS anxiety level and academic achievement in didactic courses. This study, guided by Neuman’s system model, used a descriptive cross-sectional design. An online survey link was distributed to FYNS in a southwestern state via NP directors and social media. Medication reconciliation is a fundamental step in the delivery of safe care, because if it is not done correctly, it can set the stage for medication errors. Medication reconciliation has been shown to alleviate safety issues that lead to mortality, falls, and adverse drug reactions. Human Papillomavirus (HPV) was the most common sexually transmitted disease in the United States in 2018 according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC established the Healthy People 2020 initiative for HPV vaccination uptake of 80% to effectively eliminate HPV associated cancers. The project site, a rural multispecialty clinic in the Mid-Atlantic United States reported a 3% vaccination compliance rate, well under the national average and the benchmark of 80% recommended by the CDC. This study explored student perceptions of academic integrity at an online nursing college with a high rate of plagiarism in Western Canada. Social cognitive theory and the theory of student cheating and plagiarism were used as the conceptual framework for this case study.
