Purpose: To study development of care competencies and experience of caregivers in caring stroke patientsDesign: Pre-experimental researchMethods: A sample comprised 38 stroke patients' caregivers. The research instruments used in the study included 1) a personal information form and 2) care competencies of caregivers in caring stroke patient questionnaires. Knowledge and skills in caring stroke patients were provided to the caregivers through an intensive training for four days prior to patient discharge.
