Identification Of Needs In High Risk Prematures Significant To Public Health Nursing Follow-Up, Vida Francis
Identification Of Needs In High Risk Prematures Significant To Public Health Nursing Follow-Up, Vida Francis
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
Experts in the field of prematurity have stressed the needs for an intensive follow-up program for premature infants after discharge from the hospital and cited the important role that public health nurses can play. It was hypothesized that there are needs of the high risk premature infant significant to public health nursing follow-up.
The descriptive survey method and an interview schedule was the selected manner for obtaining necessary data. The sample was chosen from high risk premature infants attending the Premature Clinic at the White Memorial Hospital. The selected infants had birth weights of 1,500 grams or less, were under …

Differential Neonatal Mortality Of Premature Infants At A Selected Hospital, Jean M. Crider
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
This study was directed toward an investigation of neonatal mortality of premature infant at a selected hospital. The sample included all premature infants who were born in and died at the selected hospital during the neonatal period between January 01, 1952 and December 31, 1959.
The epidemiological approach was used to study. The Presence Of Staphylococcus Aureus On Mothers Admitted To Selected Maternity Unit, Catherine Love Glatho
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
The purpose of this study was to determine if Staphylococcus aureus present in mothers when admitted to the maternity unit of the Loma Linda Sanitarium and Hospital could be a factor in the development of staphylococcal infection in infants. Biological specimens were collected from one hundred and forty mothers and their infants from September 1, 1959, to January 31, 1960. The specimens were obtained from the nares and external vulva of all mothers upon admission to the maternity unit, and from the nares and head of their infants after delivery. Preparation Of Health Education Materials In The Field Of Maternal And Infant Care For Use In Taiwan, Muriel Howe
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
Health Education was assumed to be one effective method of improving maternal and infant health on the Island of Taiwan.
To establish the need for new health education pamphlets to be used as a supplement to the health education program in the area of maternal and infant care in Taiwan, a survey of pamphlets already available on the Island was made.
This study revealed that while an occasional chapter in several books lightly touched upon maternal and infant health only nine pamphlets were specifically prepared in the area of maternal and infant care.
After studying the principles underlying good health …
