Objective To estimate the incidence and identify risk factors for hospital-presenting self-harm and suicide among justice-involved adolescents serving community-based orders in New South Wales, Australia. Method We conducted a population-based retrospective cohort study of 44,887 adolescents aged 10–17 years at first proven offence who received community-based orders between 1994 and 2020. Hospital and emergency department records were linked with mortality, child protection, and justice data. Cox regression estimated hazard ratios (HRs) for self-harm, and Fine-Gray models estimated subdistribution HRs for suicide, accounting for competing risks. Using population-based data from Hong Kong (N = 3,012) drawn from Wave 1 of the Global Flourishing Study, this study examines the distribution of multidimensional flourishing and explores sociodemographic variation across psychological, social, physical, and economic domains. Overall, respondents reported relatively strong happiness and life satisfaction and financial wellbeing, alongside less favourable social connectedness. Patterns of flourishing varied across age, gender, education, employment, and religious affiliation, highlighting meaningful heterogeneity within the population. Objective: Physical activity (PA) may offer health benefits for individuals undergoing substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, yet relapse, comorbidities, and motivational challenges often hinder PA maintenance. This study assessed the impact of a motivational intervention aimed at increasing PA motivation and maintenance in a residential SUD treatment setting. Methods and Measures: This non-concurrent multiple-baseline N-of-1 study consisted of a six-week baseline and a ten-week intervention period. Most patients with End Stage Kidney Failure (ESKF) in Pakistan must undergo maintenance haemodialysis (HD) to survive. Session duration and the often lifelong nature of this treatment, along with other factors associated with HD, make it difficult to tolerate. This study took a positive psychological perspective and considered that HD sessions’ duration, which has been a major challenge for HD patients, can be turned to an opportunity for patients’ meaningful engagement. People bereaved by suicide are at risk of developing significant mental health issues, including the risk of self-harm. To understand suicide exposure and psychological factors contributing to these adverse outcomes, survey data from 92 participants (Meanage = 53.50 years, SD = 14.5, female = 83.7%) who had provided care to someone who subsequently died by suicide were used. Participants responded to questions relating to suicide exposure, bereavement, suicidal ideation and psychological distress. A hierarchical regression analysis found that the perceived impact of suicide death and one's own suicidal ideation explained 46% variance in psychological distress. Substance use disorders (SUDs) pose a significant public health concern. Preliminary research suggests benefits of physical activity (PA) for individuals receiving SUD treatment. However, current PA interventions have limitations, particularly regarding PA maintenance, due to motivational issues among people with SUDs. Universities are increasingly recognising the importance of addressing the social and emotional wellbeing of their students. Mental health challenges experienced while at university can hinder academic achievement and exacerbate existing mental ill-health. In response to this identified need, many institutions have implemented mental health services, such as psychological and counselling support. However, barriers such as stigma, accessibility, and effectiveness often limit their reach and impact.
