Introduction:

The purpose of this investigation was to find out the amount of female students in third level institutions who use contraception as well as their attitude towards the availability of information about female birth control options in these institutions.

Materials and methods:

An online survey was created using Google Docs which was then sent out to undergraduate third level female students over the age of 18. All gathered data was analysed using Microsoft Excel.

This DNP project was conducted to identify gaps in knowledge focusing on sexually transmitted infections within Texas and Region one. The research study gathered data from first-year nursing students who have chosen to participate in a sexually transmitted infection-focused educational module. Participants were first-year nursing students and understood the research study was strictly voluntary with no forms of compensation. Currently, the curriculum in the nursing program at which the study took place does not focus on sexually transmitted infections and is directed to speak minimally on the subject. The screening for pre-invasive cervical lesions has significantly decreased the incidence of cervical neoplasm. It is recommended to be performed starting with the age of 21 with a frequency of 3-5 years and it consists of pap smear testing and HPV genotyping, and, if required, it can be continued with colposcopy or biopsy followed by pathological assessment. Background: Patients with 45,X/46,XY mosaicism can have genitalia spanning the range from typical female to typical male, and the sex assigned at birth is often based on the appearance of the genitalia. According to current nomenclature, only the subgroup assigned female are diagnosed with Turner syndrome (TS) (Gravholt et al, 2017). Clinical practice guidelines recommend that girls with TS be screened for several comorbidities, including short stature, cardiac and renal anomalies, and autoimmune conditions, but there are no recommendations for screening of boys with 45,X/46,XY mosaicism.
