Severe malaria is a serious infectious disease that required immediate diagnosis and prompt treatment. Severe malaria may result several organ failures which is similar with other infectious diseases like SARS-CoV-2, sepsis, dengue, and HIV infection. Most of those infection have similar symptoms such as fever, myalgia, and headache, therefore physician should have high suspicion regarding co-infection with other infectious agents. The overlapping symptoms of co-infections may become a challenge for physician in diagnosing and delivering prompt therapy. Introduction. Doctors have greater risk of acquiring COVID-19 due to occupational exposure. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is an essential factor in reducing COVID-19 transmission. We aimed to evaluate the behavior changes of PPE usage among doctors in Indonesia before and after getting COVID-19 infection in early pandemic.

Methods. This was a descriptive online survey with cross-sectional design. This survey was conducted from October-December 2020 among Indonesian doctors who were COVID-19 survivors.

Results. A total of 389 doctors who survived COVID-19 infection across Indonesia were included in the final analysis. Most participants were general practitioners and residents (69.2%) with a median …

Introduction. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) which in 2020 was declared a global pandemic. In the management of COVID-19, patients are classified according to the severity. Identifying prognostic factors at an early stage helps assess severity risks. Abnormal hematological parameters were present in COVID-19 patients such as the elevation of neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and D-dimer patients. However, the chance of COVID-19 reinfection are still not well established. This review aimed to discuss about reinfection-related studies, including causes and clinical manifestations, and reinfection management. Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) can present as various symptoms, which range from asymptomatic to severe symptoms. We report a case of COVID-19 female patient with malaria co-infection who developed pericarditis complication. In this pandemic era, it is mandatory to rule out COVID-19. Coinfection with malaria will result in higher cytokine levels which lead to atypical complication, such as pericarditis. Prompt identification of atypical COVID-19 complications is essential as it can lower the mortality rate and reduce the duration of hospitalization.

This study aimed to identify the relationship between T2DM and the outcome of COVID-19 patients in Sanglah Hospital Denpasar, Bali. Methods. An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted among COVID-19 patients. Coagulopathy is one of the complications of COVID-19 and is associated with a higher risk of mortality. However, evidence regarding the effectiveness and safety of anticoagulant therapy in various doses among COVID-19 patients is limited. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to review and explore the effect of using heparinoids as a systemic anticoagulant at prophylactic doses on mortality in COVID-19 patients.
