Eagle Syndrome is a rare syndrome caused by elongation of the styloid process of the temporal bone or calcification of the stylohyoid ligament occurring in a very small percentage of the population that can cause a wide range of common symptoms, leading to it being often misdiagnosed. While there are no set standards for treating Eagle Syndrome, both pharmaceutical and surgical options exist. SARS-CoV-2 remains an international public health concern and can be encountered in all aspects of healthcare. Although most neurological manifestations are benign, clinicians must be aware and able to recognize more serious conditions that require urgent referral and intervention. Patients at risk for severe cases should be given extra attention given their propensity for neurological and clinical deterioration. This article highlights the most common and urgent neurological symptoms and diagnoses of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as clinical pearls for their identification.

Introduction: Affecting both memory and cognitive abilities, Alzheimer’s disease is a growing problem as the baby boomer population ages. Clinical trials for new medications fail or are slow going, researchers have sought alternatives to alleviate symptoms for patients of this disease. This paper will address the effect of music therapy on mood disturbance in patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Method: A literature search was completed in November of 2019 using PubMed, EBSCO Search, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Six articles were chosen based on relevance to the research question, study design, outcome, and results.

Introduction: There have been great advances in the treatment of myelomeningocele (MMC) spina bifida in the past 20 years. An open surgical repair in-utero has been shown to reduce mortality and morbidity, specifically decreasing the rate of shunt placement and hindbrain herniation compared to a postnatal surgical approach. However, this surgery introduced risks to the mother that were never a consideration in previous surgical approaches.

Introduction: Though levodopa-carbidopa therapy remains the gold standard of Parkinson’s disease (PD) treatment to this day, patients often experience increased dyskinetic activity as a result of long-term treatment; known as levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID); the mechanism of which is not completely understood. In this review, the efficacy of two adjunct treatments for LID are compared: 1) the concomitant administration of amantadine, an antiviral medication with antidyskinetic properties; and 2) a new form of levodopa administration in the form of an intestinal gel delivered straight via a device much like an insulin pump.

This review analyzed the following question: In adults age 65 years old or older diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease (P), is nightly use of CPAP (I) more effective in reducing cognitive impairment symptoms (O) than standard pharmacotherapy options (C)? A literature search conducted through Google Scholar and PubMed granted six relevant articles that provided data for this review. No current studies compared CPAP treatment with pharmacotherapy, and each study used unique measures of cognitive function, making direct comparison of the two therapies difficult.
