Technological developments have prompted the production of highly advanced smartphones. However, various advanced features cause smartphones to heat up quickly and emit more electromagnetic radiation, which harms human health. Smartphone protection is needed to solve these issues. This study aims to create a film from the S. trifasciata plant based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to reduce electromagnetic and thermal radiation on smartphones. S. trifasciata plants were macerated with acetone and partitioned with n-hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, and water. The films were made by mixing PVA with the four fractions. The DAMA/LIBRA collaboration has reported the observation of an annual modulation in the event rate that has been attributed to dark matter interactions over the last two decades. However, even though tremendous efforts to detect similar dark matter interactions were pursued, no definitive evidence has been observed to corroborate the DAMA/LIBRA signal. Many studies assuming various dark matter models have attempted to reconcile DAMA/LIBRA's modulation signals and null results from other experiments, however no clear conclusion can be drawn. An Investigation Of Burnout And The Use Of Meditation As Means Of Prevention In In A Program Of Study For Physician Assistants, Rachel N. Chappell, George Hebert, Amber Weydert

Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice

Purpose: The purpose of this investigation was to develop, describe, and evaluate burnout curricula using meditation as a burnout reduction strategy. Method: The Maslach Burnout Inventory was the survey method used to assess PA student’s levels of burnout after completing developed burnout curricula. Results: The results showed no relationship between burnout curricula completion and rates of student burnout. However, the findings showed burnout differences across the three cohorts of student classes. Conclusion: While limited by only the three cohorts of students, the study affirmed the need for faculty to stay attuned to aspects of student burnout.

Little is known about brain aging or dementia in nonindustrialized environments that are similar to how humans lived throughout evolutionary history. This paper examines brain volume (BV) in middle and old age among two indigenous South American populations, the Tsimane and Moseten, whose lifestyles and environments diverge from those in high-income nations. With a sample of 1,165 individuals aged 40 to 94, we analyze population differences in cross-sectional rates of decline in BV with age. We also assess the relationships of BV with energy biomarkers and arterial disease and compare them against findings in industrialized contexts. The analyses test three …

Advances in Clinical Medical Research and Healthcare Delivery

Background: Race has been identified as one of the great divisions of mankind, associated with differences in healthcare access in the US. The COVID pandemic has shed light on a variety of disparities, including access to pain management services.

Method: All the adult patients who were referred to the pain clinic at Boston Medical Center (BMC) from December 2019- December 2020 were included in this study. A total of 2023 cases (1243 White Race and 790 People of Color) were recruited.

The thermodynamics of molecular recognition by proteins is a central determinant of complex biochemistry. For over a half-century, detailed cryogenic structures have provided deep insight into the energetic contributions to ligand binding by proteins. More recently, a dynamical proxy based on NMR-relaxation methods has revealed an unexpected richness in the contributions of conformational entropy to the thermodynamics of ligand binding. Here, we report the pressure dependence of fast internal motion within the ribonuclease barnase and its complex with the protein barstar.
